The Russians vetoed this in the UN.
Additionally when the Chemical weapons were used and the USA/NATO were threatening action - the Russians used heaven and earth to stop any action by negotiating the hand over of stocks.
That incidentally are being disposed of at Veolia in Ellesmere Port by incineration

Even then people in the local area complained - despite these materials being ROUTINELY HANDLED and that the destruction of this by oxidation and incineration is ROUTINE and poses NO RISK to the population or any environmental damage.
@GrandOldTeam @the esk @davek
People are ignorant
Its the same with this Refugee crisis.
Years of abuse of the system by economic migrants looking to work in the EU to earn money
Has led to apathy and an inability to react to genuine refugees!
@GrandOldTeam also highlighted you also get abuses of the system by refugees looking to swap one safe country for another.
Unless some of the provisions in law for international refugees are changed allowing it easier for governments to handle them and allowing them to go home when their countries are considered 'safe'.
Means that this is a never ending issue.
I highlighted the UK is in the midst of 'immigration fatigue' due to 15 years of mass immigration and a current a UK population growth boom that makes anything Germany is now facing look insignificant. German politicians are looking at it with blinkers through their own self interest also.
Which is causing some of the issues of actually dealing with distinguishing between 'Refugees' (Syrians) and 'Economic Migrants' looking to sneak in.
