Correct me if I'm wrong lads, but don't some immigration rules get passed over when someone is seeking/granted asylum?

Must do .. @ this time last year I had to prove I had more than 62k in my current account for more than 6 months, my house had to be inspected by some bloke from SEfton Council and certified acceptable, show Skype dialogue between my missus and me for the past 6 years, she had to take an English linguistics test, we agreed not to use the benefit system / NHS etc. .. and put on 5 years probation. We're married, kids .. my missus is Singaporean.

absolutely anybody/everybody? don't think that is going to crop up, do you? as for numbers that surely depends on the level of crises people are facing and how we are set up structurally. If I believed constant migration had no ill effects then I have no objection to any of it just out of some strange nationalistic principle

No, but surely that can be done at a later time?

Also, what numbers are we looking at bringing in? How many people live in the UK? Just over 60m?

Is a few thousand really going to make that much of a difference? I understand we're a small nation in area, but we do at least have infrastructure capable of accommodating a few more people. Apart from ambulances. They're way over capacity at present.

basically a different process and sadly open to a lot more interpretation of the rules.

That is nonsense, though - none of the people in Hungary are in danger, nor are the ones at Lampedusa, Calais or the various Greek islands. They have to wait where they are whilst the countries that they want to have house and support them sort things out

I was referring to the Syrian people, and those near.

I don't appreciate being told my point is 'nonsense' thanks. What's wrong with "I think you're wrong" or "I disagree because.."

Nonsense seems more aggressive.

see answer given... well before you two had time to construct third rate humour. as I have noticed time and again there is an element of the right that can only debate with the arguments in their head.

i feel cameron has been pushed into a corner and is rushing into offering aid just to save some face. the consequences are unknown but it is a huge displacement of people we are looking at. 100's of thousands, if not millions.
