Tell you what, I knew Allardyce was doing a good job of rewriting history with the media, didn't realise he had been so effective at it with our own fans.

We were 18th when Koeman got sacked, 13th when Allardyce took over.

The board pushed the "Allardyce panic button" far too early.
They shouldn't of pressed the "Allardyce panic button" at all.

They should of stuck with moonhead till the season was over then sacked him and found a decent replacement.

The fact though is that we were utterly atrocious under Rhino and embarrassing for the vest majority of his small time as manager.

Rafael Benitez plays 8-1-1 formations and is currently being outperformed by a Steve Bruce led Newcastle. Ronald Koeman was supposed to be the well experienced disciplinarian with no previous connection to the club that people are saying that we need right now, and he was nothing but a meat headed joke.

Silva’s premier league ‘experience’ consisted of relegating Hull and being sacked from Watford as he was proceeding over a doomed period of relegation form that has become customary during his time at Everton.

I don’t see how Arteta could do worse than Koeman the meat head and Silva the relegation specialist. In all likelihood he’d have us finishing in 8th like every other manager that we employ.

I’d have him at Everton, not because I think he can’t do any worse than all the other jokers but because I think he has the potential to do a lot better.

We don’t have time for potential and like I’ve said it’s to risky he’s not proven

Or it could fasttrack him to stardom!

I feel he 'knows' Everton pretty well and has seen just how much the managers job has become something of a poison chalice. I don't see him wanting to go anywhere near the Club at the moment. To be honest, I think he'll be far more shrewd and play things a little 'safer' with his career.

.
Fantastic description of him that, although just the thought of him makes me feel sick.

As for Arteta, I've always thought no, for lack of experience, but you make a valid point on your last line.
It's noticeable that Pep seems to ask his opinion a lot, or it appears that way anyway.

He could be much worse.

And managers that manage low budget sides and play pack it in crap footy is not going to work, either.

And Marcelino is WAY more qualified than Arteta and frankly so had Silva when he came.

Pep also won the 3rd division with Barca B. Arteta needs at least a season somewhere in charge. We aren't that desperate.
So, not a manager in first post, not a manager from a "low budget" background. We now know what's ruled out. What does the profile of our next manager/head coach look like? Who fits that profile? And how likely are they to come?

I just don't really know how anyone can have a strong opinion on this either way. He's got no record in management whatsoever, nobody has any real idea what impact he has as a coach at City, so it basically just comes down to a question of whether you like him as a bloke or not. He might turn out to be a great manager, he might turn out to be an awful one, but nobody can really provide any evidence either way.

I think its because a lot accept we wont get a top manager, Silva clearly isnt right and needs to be gone at the end of the season if he lasts that long, so for me its more a case of trying something different.
However one thing i do like about the fact that he hasnt got experience is he might be more willing to sit down and listen and not be so stubborn thinking he knows it all. Silva seems to do the same thing everyweek with the same players and cant see it dosent work, you wont do that if its your first go at management

I see what you mean. Not sure I agree with your conclusion though.

I don't think Silva does the same things repeatedly because his previous record in management tells him that's the best way to do it, I think it's just because he has an idea of how he wants to play and a couple of bad results isn't going to make him rethink his entire strategy. I think the same could apply whether you're a novice or been in the game 30 years, you'll have an idea of what you're trying to do and the likelihood is you'll stick with that in that main.

In a lot of ways that's a good thing, I'd be worried about a manager who ripped it up and started again every time he hit a bad run. The key is to get the right balance, sticking to your beliefs but recognising when things need changing. In fairness to Silva it's hard to say he's been intransigent this season. By my reckoning he's given league starts to 20 different outfield players in 12 games, and he's recently changed both the formation and the way we defend set pieces. It's easy for us to say they're doing the same things every week when the results are bad, but the truth is he's made plenty of changes.

Not ready yet to come to Everton

But if he becomes successful as a manger elsewhere, yes would like to see it happen.

It also depends on the type of squad he'd be taking over. At least a few would have to be schooled in the Cruyff ways.
