One of the best players I've seen in a blue shirt in 61yrs of watching the blues. And we only win stuff when we have an ex player as manager, so I am in..

Its incredible to me that so many people voted yes on this. What on earth is your reasoning? What evidence do you have to suggest that Arteta would be a good manager for us right now, other then gut instinct?

We all saw what happened when Rhino had a shot at the job, the vipers in our first team ate him alive. What chance would a totally rookie manager like Arteta have with this team?!

would I take him mid season whilst in danger?

would I take him in the summer if silva was to go and no "top" manager was interested? yes most definitely

every manager has got to start somewhere, he's had a few years under pep as well

Rhino had been working with the kids, doing a great job, but at that level, Arteta has experienced seeing how things work at the top.

All of that is great, he's proven that he's a good coach. He still hasn't done anything to that proves that he's capable of managing a club, much less a top half premier league club with a struggling team, that has a terrible attitude and fans that expect better.

This is yet another fine example of the old boys network on full display at Goodison. Nobody would've ever even vaguely mentioned Arteta where it not for the fact that he used to play here. How ludicrous is that?! Just looking at some of the suggestions for new manager, many of whom come from our own fans I think it's safe to say that there's a section of our fanbase who suffer from such severe self-loathing that they crave failure from club (and by extension themselves).

It would be utterly moronic to even consider bringing Arteta in as manager. Have some pride and standards for God's sake!
I said the same about Lampard and Chelsea. And look at me now, they sit in a 3rd place and I feel stupid.

Its still early days to judge Lampard yet but he has a decent side to work with and this league is an absolute shambles, the fact that we're only three points off fifth prove it.

Plus Lampard did at least spend a year at derby as manager learning the ropes before getting a big top flight job. Even if he'd crashed and burned at Chelsea (which could very well still happen) he'd walk back into a championship job right away. Arteta has zero experience as manager. Do you honestly reckon Chelsea would of touched Lampard if he'd not spent that season at Derby proving himself at least capable.

Absolutely no chance.

The player who publicly stated he freezes at Anfield and wanys to come off the pitch.

Our mentality at the club is bad enough.
