Misc. Transfer Rumour Thread

Hold on, your hero Moyes is exclusively searching the Liverpool 4 market.

Some people on here only knew Moyes so from that perspective their glasses are well and truly tinted. And to be fair, does L4 extend to Catalan as Im pretty sure he had a right go there early in the market (Thiago, Fabregas and Herrera). Im not defending HK in anyway just making a point.

So Martinez thinks they can do a job for us. Who are you to argue? Unless your knowledge of what these players brings somehow surpasses that of RM, maybe you should, you know, pipe down.

It's fine if you think signing 4 players (paying about £20m) from the mighty Wigan is not a problem. See how Everton will do this season then especially Fellaini is gone. Then, you will see whether these signings will actually improve Everton.

You think RM is good at signing good players that will improve Everton. I don't. We share different opinion.

Ah alright mate, we can shrug off his performances when he has come on, or the 120 minutes against Stevenage, because he hasn't yet started a game yet in the league.

4 games so far - has continued with Moyes philosophy of one up front home and away (including cup game at home to Stevenage). 3 goals conceded. 4 scored. Results as of 90 minutes - 4 games, 0 wins (including home to West Brom in terrible form for 2013), 4 draws, 0 losses. Win ratio, er, 0%.

And why we're here can we stop this trail of thought that says you can only play attack minded football with 2 up front.

Don't even know where to begin with his one.

Agree with you Chico fine player for us Arteta. But we got a good price for him given his age and the fact he demanded a transfer.
What annoys me is the way this has been twisted round by some posters,to suit their agenda.

We were incredibly lucky that Gibson has turned out easily as effective in that deep centre midfield role. Just keeping him fit is the problem.

Why not just say you don't rate the leathers but are prepared to give RM and the players the benefit for now.

In all honesty I know next to nothing about Kone and Mcarthy but RM will stand or fall on whether he knows more than me and thee about these lads the best we can do is let it ride for a season then flash at people in Stanley park during the hours of dusk.

I'm very much ready to give McCarthy and Martinez (especially the latter) plenty of time. What I'm saying is that the idea that McCarthy would be a great like for like replacement for Fellaini OR worth 10m is preposterous, the facts don't support it at all.

Kone - I stand rightly accused of writing him off entirely, fair enough. I refer anyone to his Sevilla record, and performances thus far, in my evidence.

The irony being that one poster cited Beattie as a waste of money by Moyes, but used Kone's goal scoring feats last season to justify admonishing me for criticizing his signing.

2002-2003 Beattie scored 23 league goals.
Last season, Kone scored a fairly unremarkable 11.

Very good at it. A midfield of him and Gibson with the likes of Pienaar, Barkley, Mirallas and Deulofeu would be very good.
Gibson and McCarthy both showing for the ball, moving it along quickly, thats been our problem, slow build it up play, Gibson and McCarthy will speed the play up.

Martinez must be tearing his hair out with it as much as us. If we were a proper run club he'd have sorted this sooner. Fellaini for me is not the right player to fit the bill. If Moyes hadn't acted like a completely classless **** we'd have had a different tempo at play right now.

Still have time to convince him to come out of retirement.

Are we actually debating the merits of a player based purely on one YouTube video here?

Please tell me I'm mis-interpreting this.

No, what we are saying is that someone earlier in the thread used as an example of his ''talents'' - if we can use it to praise him, rightly it can be used to criticise.

OR we can go back, compare his performance to Fellaini's last season, which utterly ridicules the suggestion that he can be a like - for - like replacement.

How many? He probably sign Fellaini only. Did he sign 4 players from Everton and we are a top 6th team not some team in the lower division.

He can sign them from anywhere in the world for massive prices, that's the point: Martinez goes to Wigan because we have to shop for bargains.

If you think that's the manager's fault you need to think again.
