2019/20 Moise Kean

The reply to my question is nothing at all related.

How many players that age have moved to a foreign club last summer and are doing well?

Simple question which doesnt require an esaay answer.

What does a move to a foreign club have to do with the point I made? What does 'doing well' have to do with the point I made?

The point I made was about minutes, plain and simple. Performance is subjective, whether a player is getting regular minutes is a simple matter of fact. My point, to reiterate for the umpteenth time is that loads of under 20 players are getting regular playing time on the pitch and Kean isn't. There's absolutely no good reason for it. As a striker, you can understand being out of the team if the team are winning and other strikers are performing - that's not the case here. So why aren't we giving him a go.

To answer your utterly feutile question about u20 players that have moved to foreign clubs and are playing regularly - here's just a few for you: Erling Haaland, Victor Osimhen, Joao Felix, De Ligt, Sancho, Jovic, Guendouzi, Militao, Isak, Vinicius Jnr, Zagadou, Ibrahima Konate, Hakimi, Hagi, Cunha, Odegaard, Chukwueze, N'Dicka, Rafael Leao and Justin Kluivert

Also, why does that matter? Plenty of top Footballers in the Prem aren’t at conversational levels of English. All you need is a few words here and there.

Can’t see how that would be a justifiable excuse not to give him minutes.

“You can’t play till you learn English....”
I don't care about that. I just want to know how some GOT posters know that he can't speak English. Who told them?

Two months he’s been here. But it’s time to bin him off because he’s clearly not good enough OTHERWISE HE’D BE STARTING WOULDN’T HE?????

That is not at all what you're saying, you're snidely insinuating that he isn't good enough because he's not starting games already.

Lad, you've got some serious issues you need to work through.

I've literally repeatedly said that there's no reason not to play him. My agenda is pretty clear.

I'm not bothered what you think of me pal.

Let's try and stay on topic though, eh?.

Ok we will.

Look at the state of your posting history in this thread. Here's just a few quotes from you insinuating he isn't good enough which you'll no doubt try to cleverly twist around in a condescending manner.

This.

It’s not that he’s not scored. As a fanbase, we don’t need all that much to get really excited. A bit of strength to put a defender on their backside, a bit of skill to bamboozle a full back. A bit of pace, running past a few players before working the keeper, or even shooting just wide. Any of that and we’d be falling over each other to say “the goals will come”.

The real issue is that he’s not looked like scoring. He hasn’t displayed any flash of what we signed him for. If you’re after a scapegoat you’ll blame Marco and the system and absolve Moise of all responsibility.

But if you’re being honest with yourself, really truly honest with yourself, you’d accept that he also hasn’t played particularly well and should really have done better.

So yes, even after FIVE games, for £30m, 19 or not, leading the line for a big PL club, that’s the bar. And he’s fell quite a way short.

Fully expect DCL to go back in the line up, which will do Kean no favours in the long run.

Sandro.
So we’re now parking him out wide to take the pressure off the CF role?

Bernard, Walcott, Richarlison, Iwobi. We aren’t exactly short of wide players.

We need a CF. He was signed as a CF. If we’ve taken to sticking him out wide, I’m even more concerned as it likely means Silva isn’t seeing enough in training either.
As long as he >looks< dangerous, that would be a start. Just give us a little flash of brilliance to latch on to Moise - meant to be the best young striker in Europe and currently channelling Big Vic.
Considering how dire we are in front of goal, how desperate we are for some pace, energy and clinical finishing up top, the manager STILL hasn't had the sufficient faith in his ability to start him regularly yet.

Alot of fans believed that the signing was something of a coup, and the reason he signed for us over others was purely down to game time. Well, that and something to do with Brands being so good at his job that he plays Mahjong with top Footy agents when he's not giving shirts to players Mums or working out. If that's to be believed, we're not holding our end of the bargain are we?

Furthermore, If things are that dire and you're not willing to give your big new signing an extended run in the team, it suggests to me that Silva / the club mustn't be seeing much / enough in training. And how well do you have to do in training to outshine Dom?

Time to step up Moise, la.
Ask yourself why.

Team desperately struggling for goals, pace, energy and creativity.

Highly rated international striker with experience at the top level, big summer signing sat on the bench.

Doesn’t compute.

I hope he works out (I still think he will, by the way) and nobody is expecting wonders from the lad though, at the same time, it’s reasonable to expect more than we’ve seen and perfectly rational to be a little concerned - If anyone can venture a rational argument as to why he’s not even getting minutes, I’d find that really interesting to read.

Because when he's played he's showed he's not yet fully ready.

There's no shame in that. Richarlison is three years older and did a better job up front the other day than either DCL or Kean have so far.

That's not to say both DCL or Kean haven't played well in patches - they have. But we needed what Richarlison offered the other day and he did it brilliantly.

Kean came on and played well in the minutes he was on the pitch. He has plenty of time.

Look how we ruined Sandro. Yes, I don't think he has half the raw talent Kean had but we just lumped him in up top isolated on his own, in a team playing badly.

So there's no rush to do that again. There will have been a plan outlined for Kean - if our DoF and manager have any sense, which for all their faults I reckon they have when it comes to getting the players we did sign in - it will have several different avenues of how to achieve what we want to with Kean.

bang on buddy.

The more time Kean has to slowly be introduced to more and more time, without the pressure of being expected to bang in 20 goals a season, the better for him to grow into the role we have bought him for.

Richy did his job brilliantly yesterday. Had we got a second earlier on he'd have come on and had some real time to enjoy a good performance.

Instead he came on with 5 mins to go, played a key part in us getting another goal and came off having contributed. Can only be good for confidence.

Ok we will.

It say's a lot that you're getting so utterly defensive about this.

I've never once said or implied he isn't good enough. Quite the opposite, i've said clearly I think he will become a good player in time. I'm just questioning why he isn't getting more game time than he's got, to be able to make the mistakes that all young players make and need to make in order to grow. There are potential reasons for that, some of which we can only guess at as fans.

In the minutes he has played, he's not match sharp so he hasn't looked very good. Others have said that in this thread too. I don't think any would argue that he should have got more time than he's been given, especially given the poor run of results we've had. Even in some of the victories, I've no idea why he didn't play any part against Sheffield Wednesday.

He's a grown man, this is a player we should set high expectations for. Ease him in by all means, we're a quarter of the way through the season, we have no clear CF. The team are underperforming, missing a clear cutting edge in attack - if only we had a £30m international striker sat on the bench, twiddling his thumbs.
