If only he could - but the pressures of being a Premier League manager don't make it possible to guarantee anyone that kind of run. I don't disagree that he needs a run of games, but not gonna happen. The Chelsea situation is interesting - the transfer ban has forced their hand, and Lampard played two of their young guns, Mount and Tomori, for a full season in the Championship at Derby. There is also a core group coming through at the same time who have played together for years - a bit like the Man Utd kids at the beginning of their glory years - which I think helps. That is what I would love to happen with us - but ultimately they all have to be good enough and ready.

I know what you mean about pressure but, we have no other options and even tho some on here say fans are impatient with young players I don’t believe that’s the case. Everyone knows that he’s young and in a new country but watching our team struggle for goals with a new “ exiting” striker on the bench is more baffling to fans I think.would be a lot different if we were winning games and he had a successful system of formulae but we have been rank on the eye and with producing results. Like when lookman showed glimpses and set up a very goals and showed a bit of skill and beat a man. That again was an area that our team was lacking and bolasie was playing despite being dog muck, Walcott got 3 months of games while putting in cringe worthy performances and Vlasic didn’t even get a go in the same position. We literally played two terrible wingers for months while having two talented albeit inexperienced young players on the bench.

I mean that's just an outright lie really isn't it? Very bizarre.
Accuse someone of telling lies for what are simple facts.
Pretty stupid comment that fella.

If Gomes Gbamin & Delph were fit Tom would still be overlooked.

If we had signed Zooma, Rojo etc Mason wouldnt get near the team.

If we had signed a centre forward Dom or Kean wont get a look in.

Same with Vlasic & Lookman last season.

Btw Kean wont be here very long and why would he?
Good enough for Italy & Juventus but cant get a game here.

When are you talking about here? I feel like you're getting your seasons mixed up. When Walcott first came he was really good, there were people talking about him being our player of the season despite not joining until January. Lookman left on loan when Walcott arrived so they weren't really here together. Vlasic and Bolasie were here then, but not the season after when Walcott was struggling, although we did have Bernard and Richarlison at that point.

Silva does not like playing young players.

Tbf if he was good enough for Juventus they wouldn't have sold him. Not saying he's not good like

Sorry lie wasn't really the right word, i'm not accusing of you anything I just meant you were wrong. Tell you what is pretty stupid though fella, saying your - demonstrably incorrect - opinion is a simple fact.

Saying 'if we'd signed...' then these players wouldn't be playing is pretty ridiculous really isn't it? If we had a blank cheque book none of the current team would be playing would they, we'd replace the lot. The logical thing to believe is just that Silva thinks Zouma is better than Holgate, Gomes is better than Davies etc, not that he's afraid to play young players. So it's not a fact at all.

You originally said they only play if there's no other options, which is quite clearly untrue (hence me saying lie). Holgate is playing ahead of a current England international, that is another option. DCL has played regularly ever since Silva came in, despite us having Tosun, Niasse, Richarlison, and now Kean as other options. Davies has kept his place in the side despite other options being available, and was even captaining the side for a bit last year.

Silva has always made it very clear that he picks the side based on training and performance, and to give him credit that does appear to be the case. When things aren't working he's not afraid to change it, as we've seen with Tosun coming back in when it's quite clear he isn't seen as the long term answer.

Really ?
Do you think Walcott warranted a place instead of Vlasic.
Or Lookman was given a fair crack.

So what are the "other options" to Tom playing now? Schneiderlin lol

Facts are things that actually take place , and they are there for us all to see every week.Tosun came back in cos Dom cant hit a barn door.so why not put Kean up there rather than tell ys he's a right winger which he obviously isnt.

If you think the young players get a fair crack over others then you stick with it fella . I just say what I see ,Tosun over Kean not for me fella.

Vlasic has left mate. He spent the entirety of last season on loan and has now gone permanently, you would have to assume with the full agreement of our director of football. At no point has he ever been competing with Walcott for a place under Silva.

Is Silva trying to tell us Kean is a right winger, or did he just give him a run out there? Have many other strikers not been asked to have a go out wide, particularly when young lads? Henry, Martial, Rashford, Aubameyang, Lacazette? You've gone from complaining that DCL doesn't get enough chances to play to saying he can't hit a barn door in the space of 2 posts. Probably answered your own question really.

Youve ansewered you own last 3 posts .
Fwiw I should have put Lookman not Vlasic.
The others stand mate he only plays the youngsters as a last resort.

But if you think they are getting a fair crack thats up to you.
Kean most certainly isnt.

Is Silva trying to tell us Kean is a right winger, or did he just give him a run out there

I honestly find it staggering that our fans can't see what Silva was trying to do with Kean that Watford game. Kean had shown in the previous games he had played that he had struggled playing with his back to goal and was struggling with the physicality of being a loan front man. Silva started him out wide with the instruction to cut inside, get on the end of DCLs knock downs and use the space that would be afforded to him. It was moving inside that opened up the space for him to get onto a through ball early on.

Now, this would have worked better if he had a right back behind him who was up and down the flank, However, Coleman was beyond awful that game meaning that Kean was basically man marked and the space wasn't there. The most obvious change would have been to bring Sidibie on for Coleman but I'm pretty sure Sidibie wasn't fully fit and had just played 90mins on the Saturday.

Kean is an exciting talent, no doubts. But that doesn't mean he is ready to lead our line. The lad himself only set a target of 7 goals for this season. Until he is up to speed with the league and showing that he is ready in training, then he won't be and shouldn't be starting up top.

Kean will end the season looking like the best striker in the squad. It’ll happen for him.

hes a kid in a new country playing in a tough league, without a run of games and in a team that doesn’t play to his strengths.

it’s no surprise he doesn’t look confident and it’s self fulfilling to a degree.

he’s gonna get his chance and all he needs is a goal. Get that - off his backside if necessary - and that’ll be the spark.
