Didn't like that at all, and I don't think he was nearly as bad as some posters are suggesting he was. I thought Iwobi's effort all game was lacking and he lasted from start to finish so I think there was something personal going on there. At the end of the day, Niasse is an appalling player so the change doesn't make any sense on any level in my opinion, and to shy away from it in the interview after was very disappointing.

Fair enough, but he's the caretaker manager. Mightn't be here next week and could have alienated one or two players a few days before the biggest game of our season. Think it's really poor of him tbh.

he’s the manager though, until a permanent one is appointed. He has to manager them daily and get results and performances. And his insight to how players react to different situations, their mentality about decisions which affect them will all be passed to a new manager.

so if kean has not done what he’s been told because he’s either incompetent or ignorant to instructions then the next manager needs to be aware of this

He was absolutely blowing on one of the corners. He'd been on the pitch for 10mins.

Richy and DCL were still able to run the length of the pitch at 85mins.

Massive difference.
yeah tbf to Big Dunc, there was no reaction from Kean by any means

Didn't like what happened, but he has to get his mentality switched on to the job in hand, the least expected of him would be to make a nuisance of himself and harass the defending players, he didn't do it.

Actually the few minutes Niasse was on he held on to the ball a few times played off some passes. His card was marked from the day he arrived here, Dunc trains him he must know what he’s all about more than we do. Keans hound he will get his chance,if not back to Italy.

It’s a massive test of character for both kean and Ferguson, it’ll be handled behind closed doors and you want a player to have the grit to come out and get his head down to price his manager wrong
Absolutely this. There will be a conversation next training where Dunc will explain why he did what he did. Then it’ll be up to Kean to take heed or sulk/slink away. I really hope it’s the former

Honestly as good as Dunc has been this is why I can’t have him as the permanent manager. Look Kean played poorly when he came on but he absolutely didn’t deserve to come back off. Dunc knows how to motivate players who need a kick up the arse, Kean clearly has no confidence and needs an arm round him not to be embarrassed in front of 75,000 people and millions watching around the world.

I’m sorry to say but he’s not the permanent manager, he shouldn’t be doing this to a player that realistically he’s not gonna have to manage for much longer. Look Kean wasn’t going to cost us a goal with so little time left and Niasse wasn’t coming on and scoring, arguably he’d give the ball away just as much or more. Disgraceful man management from Dunc. Unfortunately we seem to be doing everything to make sure Kean fails at the club and will want out in January regardless of who comes in as the manager.

Is Kean doing everything he can to succeed at the club?

People moan about players being slackers, the manager has just a laid a gauntlet down

this is what I expect, don’t do it then off you go. You need to be ruthless, every other top manager would do it

you do not pander to players
It was ruthlessness shown from Ronald Koeman which pushed Ross Barkley away from out club and led him to running his contract down.

I'm not necessarily saying that Duncan did the wrong thing or trying to say that managers cannot be ruthless but there's a fine line between using these moments to teach and develop a young footballer and completely shooting a player and his confidence.

I've got no issues with a manager being ruthless but it needs to follow up with constructive feedback and training to work on the issues/concerns that are in place. I really hope that Dunc and the coaching staff will follow this up with a real focus on how he can imrpove and develop under the Everton model.

defo, it’s how grownups deal with it. just need to see if kean is a grownup or a spoilt teenage brat. His reactions will show what type of character he his
