I would much prefer to see (and hear at Goodison) our fans give our players more praise than they deserve rather than more criticism than they deserve.

Nobody is criticising. But dont over hype them because when they cant hack it they then get criticised for not hacking it. When they were not up to it in the first place. Everton fans are as guilty at this on forums. A 5 game run under no pressure and our players are suddenly world beaters. Then when it matters they usualy flop. And people asking why.
Answers simple. They were over hyped.
Players and teams who turn up and do the business when it really counts should get that sort of praise.

We’d be crazy to start the same team as Sunday today. Although our fitness levels were good, after a long lay off, I’d be surprised if we started the same team today. If we do, I’m sure we’ll pick up injuries.

We wont start the same 11.

But Ancelotti has already said the 20 man squad will be the same.

So there's not a whole raft of viable changes that we could make.

I recon it will just be Bernard in for Gordon and Siggy in for Gomes

We're a below average PL team. We have absolutely no right to turn up to any game in this league with anything other than our strongest team out and expect to win. If Ancelotti thinks Kean is our best option tonight then great, if he doesn't then he shouldn't play, it's really that simple.

He's a striker. There isn't much point in playing him on the wing when he doesn't really get the positioning when playing there. Especially in a 4-4-2.

But who is actually saying that? I've just gone back half a dozen pages and there's all these posts below from people talking about people wanting to sell him, and a grand total of zero posts from people actually wanting to sell him. It seems to be a bit of a made up argument.

Cannot fathom why people want to get rid of him. Got to give him next season at the very very least

completely knee jerk to judge him yet. What had Calvert Lewin done in his first full senior season with Everton? Now he’s progressed into a really good centre forward but people don’t want to give Kean that chance. I bet we don’t bring in a striker this summer. We’ve got three top young forwards at the club.

I don't understand the people who want to get rid before he's shown anything. He's 20 years old, moved to a different country and expected to hit the ground running in one of the more physically competitive leagues.
He needs game time either with us, or with another club that can afford to play developing players without the pressure.
He's obviously been talented enough to come through the ranks at Juventus, at the very least give him another season of playing here before writing him off.

In 3 years time he’ll still be a young striker, the lad has ages to find his feet. Can not understand people writing him off!

Having doubts is ok but I don't get why people are so quick to write him off. He played sporadically in an awful team that created very little. When Calvert Lewin was getting the minutes but not scoring, people were saying give him more time.

We're a weird fanbase sometimes... Loved straq, didn't complain when saha was a regular starter and went 12 months without a goal, but pan this lad at every opportunity.

Watching DCL grow into what he has become resonates to me the time we need to encourage him to grow in a similar fashion. I believe he will all a sudden click and be a force.

It isn't totally made up...

I'd sell if we could find someone interested in him. I've seen nothing from him to justify even half of the transfer fee. Anichebe looked a far better player at his age and had a far better scoring record.

I would definitely look to do a swap deal - Kean + a few quid for Belotti would do me.

Alternatively you have Schick at Roma - only 24 and has 9 goals in 22 for the national team and netted 10 in 20 or so games on loan at Leipzig.

Start him against Norwich and if he doesn't play or doesn't score, sell him.

Although I think a certain poster's persistence may have me thinking it's a stronger sentiment than it is I will admit.

Just sell and move on, he will never be any good, another Lookman, wont be missed

Honestly I think he's shown a substantial amount more than DCL did in his first season too.
