2019/20 Moise Kean

Deffo won't be going on loan, doesn't make sense... Especially when he's not going to play everyweek.

Never wanted a player to play as much as I do him, think he could be our new lukuku... He's had me excited the couple of times he's "got it right" in games something DCL never does, he's just a plodder Kean has that bit of magic

Just as saying he must have a poor attitude or low ability is a lazy way of justifying why he isn't performing. Just as it's lazy to say he mustn't be making an effort when you aren't there to see and assess.

It's lazy, uninformed Sky Sports levels of analysis. You could be entirely correct....but none of us know apart from the people involved. Lazy gossip based on little to nothing other than stereotyped views of rich young footballers or Johnny Foreigner coming to steal a living.

Plenty of people have spells of poor performance regardless of job description. It's not a case of hiding behind something if that something is entirely valid. You're taking a lot of swings in the dark.

But people are clearly just sitting in the dark, not swinging at anything, hoping this kid becomes worldclass at somepoint in the next few years whilst he's an everton player. There is a reason he isnt starting games.

- the lad ISNT alone in unknown country.
- the lad hasnt been forced to come to everton.
- he may be "homesick", but again hes clearly surrounded by his chosen entourage.
- no one on this forum knows why he isnt getting minutes. One can only hazard a guess and my guess is that hes not shown enough and that is either attitude or ability.
- could well be something as obvious as hes not settled.
- holding out for him to make an impact is like saying you dont want success NOW. Which is clearly carlos strategy with the recent signings.

I'm confused about how Kean is supposed to prove he's better than the guy who is scoring in every game without playing games. I mean you'll say training, but you aren't going to take Aubameyang out because Lacazette pops a few in at practice and the same goes here. I don't think it is entirely his fault he hasn't gotten chances and as a club we need to collectively figure out that you don't give up on young players at the first possible opportunity. A great example of that in fact is Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
During the lockdown games DCL did nothing. That was the perfect chance for Carlo to play Kean. He played him.once. I don't mind keeping Kean. I was saying that rather than loan him to Juve if rather sell him. If we keep him I'd still support him. But he still hasn't done much when he has played. Carlo has shown by his new signings that he wants players who are ready now. Kean is still very raw and definitely not ready. Could we not use the money from Kean and get an experienced striker in. DCL is the young striker.

Love when people bring his wage into it as if that should automatically make him happy.

He probably doesn't even think about it.
Works both ways though doesn’t it? You can’t have people saying ‘imagine being a kid in a different country it’d be so hard’ because he probably doesn’t think about that either. When I moved away from home as a teenager I was happy as a pig in the proverbial.

Im not hating on moise kean and not anti-kean - id be amongst the first to cheer if he started bagging. But i want to see Everton win things and compete, sooner rather than later and not when certain players decide to show up. I would love to see him score a load of goals for Everton under carlos tutorage and become a key player because it'd go along way to seeing the club progress for us as a collective.

"Kean never did enough to get his chance"

"Kean scored twice in 2 games he started"

Biiiit unsure of your stance there
Rightly or wrongly, the impression I got was that the managers last year didn’t trust Kean to do the job they asked him to. If you send someone on for 20 minutes and asked them to do a specific job, and they don’t do it, then you’re probably not going to give them 90 minutes in the next game. There’s more to it than scoring the odd tap in when you start.

I don’t want us to sell Kean because I’d like to believe he can come good. There’s no point comparing it to the DCL situation though, it’s completely different. DCL was a cheap punt with low expectations and low wages, giving him chance to develop was always the plan. Kean was quite clearly bought to make an impact. People can pretend he wasn’t all they want but this club does not buy £27m players and pay them £50k a week On the off chance they come good after 3 years. He hasn’t done what we expected and it’s left the club with a decision to make. We’re also not the only ones who won’t be happy. He didn’t come here to make cameos, he’s supposed to be a star. He and his agent will not have been happy with last season, and if the situation doesn’t look like it’s changed then they’ll want out.
Most sensible post for a long time

Those 'loan back to Juventus' reports are bonkers. He'd just be swapping one bench for another.. but at least he'd be getting more game time here like.

We should all know by now never to trust what a manager says about a player during a transfer window. Very rarely will you hear a manager openly admitting that a player does not fit into his plans and he wants to sell him. CA has always been positive about Moise Kean and I think the arrival of Ancelotti has improved the chance of the player staying because of the support he has given him but also as fellow countrymen in a different country there may be an extra bond between them even if it is a small thing like being able to speak to somebody in his own language.

However, we all know that if a player wants to leave then it will almost invariably happen and I have not heard one word from him that I can remember which gives an indication as to how he feels, one way or the other. I don't take any real notice of the media linking him with a return to Italy because we have seen so many stories that are simply not true.

At the very least the profile of Moise Kean and his standing as a young player with talent has not diminished. In the event of a sale I think we would expect to get back every penny we spent and maybe even more. Playing in the senior international team this week will have further helped there.

I can only see him leave if he is absolutely determined to do so and even then I feel it may be in exchange for a player that we want in return such as a Kean/Lozano swap.

I think Kean is a slotter in the box, lineker style, we didn’t have the quality to afford that role last season, so he didn’t get minutes. I think he might get more chance this season with better in the box service
Just my view

Has he came out and actively said he's not excited to be playing with Rodriguez? Or is he the only member of the squad who hasn't come out and said he is excited? I can only assume you've been on every other players thread and said the same about their theoretical levels of excitement?

His reputation on arrival was of a good professional with one or two small disciplinary matters involving curfew while on U21 duty with Italy. Teenagers tend to do daft stuff like that. A lot of teenagers do a lot worse.

By and large he has been praised as a person and professional by all his coaches in Italy. The biggest story around him in Italy was when he reacted to relentless racist chanting from Cagliari fans and was unbelievably criticised for it by Bonucci.

Definitely blotted his copybook at Everton with breaching Covid rules and being late for a team meeting but it's hardly outrageous behaviour that puts him in the notorious category.
Blimey who rattled your cage are you in the Mosie Kean dimension, anyway constant rumours of wanting away, with performances worse than Niasse, we should all form a human chain and help him pack... And I'll pick him up and drive him to the airport myself for his one way ticket back to Italy. Get Simms in first team desire is what is needed.

Sell or keep. Loan wouldn't be beneficial in my opinion. If they offered us our money back I would take it and put towards a striker who is proven and can play alongside DCL or Richarlison.
