2019/20 Moise Kean

Guaranteed if the same player had gone to Liverpool or Man Utd etc and hardly played, they'd now be demanding double their money back before listening to a transfer offer. We seem to get shat on selling players, because we're lowly Everton. Hopefully that is now changing and if he is sold, we stick to our guns.

Saying that... Keep if we're actually going to give him a chance. We never know what is really going on behind the scenes, whether he's in a friendship group within the club or how he is performing in training (Both ability and attitude). Some players just don't work at new clubs and if that's what the management are seeing then it's up to the board/Brands to get the best deal for the club, and we have to trust that is the right decision to progress us.

Feel bad for the kid tbh, you forget he came over as a 19 boy to a foreign country and new league, playing for a dysfunctional club full of gash players with a big price tag to live up to, you can understand how he’s not settled yet.

On top of that the few opportunities he got were 10 minute cameos stuck out on the wing at the end of games with no one within 40 yards of him. Could see him being homesick and wanting the safety blanket that is juve

Just a shame thats part and parcel of being a professional sportsman! I reckon we would all go and play in worse conditions if we were on 50k a week. He was obviously brought in to have an immediate impact - no way are were signing anyone for that much to have cameos. I think theres something severely up with this lad behind the scenes for him not to have been given more starts/minutes - whether thats attitude or he just isnt rated. His level might be italian football - lukaku is looking 10 times the player since he went there.. says a lot about moise kean and his ability in my opinion.

The fact Juventus are still interested in him tells you there’s still a talented player in there with him and that we should stick with him for another season at least. With a full season under Ancelotti, with better players around him and possibly a different approach to games and style of play he could really kick on.

I did feel sorry for him last season, his first move abroad at a new club and new place to live, he obviously struggled to get to grips with the speed of our league, his fitness levels weren’t great, he was in and out of the side, played under 3 different managers who had different sets ups and styles of play, looked demoralised when he was dragged off infront of 70’000 at Old Trafford after not long coming on. It couldn’t have been easy for him.

I really want him to succeed here.

Every footballer round Kean age would and should be excited about being in the same team as James, if this lad ain't, bin him off now. He came with a reputation of being a prat outside football, he has enhanced that reputation, and actually looks worse than Niasse on the pitch.

Has he came out and actively said he's not excited to be playing with Rodriguez? Or is he the only member of the squad who hasn't come out and said he is excited? I can only assume you've been on every other players thread and said the same about their theoretical levels of excitement?

His reputation on arrival was of a good professional with one or two small disciplinary matters involving curfew while on U21 duty with Italy. Teenagers tend to do daft stuff like that. A lot of teenagers do a lot worse.

By and large he has been praised as a person and professional by all his coaches in Italy. The biggest story around him in Italy was when he reacted to relentless racist chanting from Cagliari fans and was unbelievably criticised for it by Bonucci.

Definitely blotted his copybook at Everton with breaching Covid rules and being late for a team meeting but it's hardly outrageous behaviour that puts him in the notorious category.

We probably would mate but just because he’s earning that much doesn’t mean he becomes immune from home sickness and other mental insecurities.

I get that people expect him to make an instant impact given the price we paid for him, it doesn’t always work like that though, many players have took time to adjust to this league in the past.

Anyways all these expectations of him are a fault of our previous managers for not replacing Lukaku with an adequate striker. Had we already had a top goal scorer at the club I doubt many would be fussed on the fee we paid for Kean and would be more willing to give him more time to settle in and adjust.

Lot's of much more experienced players struggle to adapt to the PL and then go on to be successful. Bergkamp struggled in the PL and was written off as an expensive mistake until he was getting regular games under a different manager.

And I'd definitely go and play elsewhere for 50k a week. But I'd still be terrible...the pay doesn't magically affect ability.

I think all this about age, new country/league etc is just a lazy way of justifying how he's evidently not performed. Dcl was poor after the restart and we had little to play for but kean wasnt given an opportunity. Ancelloti see's him in training all week, is a fellow italian so youd expect some degree of human compassion and i highly doubt he would be holding back a fellow countryman... yet the man who has managed some of the best players in football doesnt seem to want to give him more of an opportunity. That screams he isnt performing as expected - whether that be attitude or ability, we will never know. These players get paid more than enough money that allows them to pack a whole entourage in their gucci holdalls when they move to a new league - kean certainly doesnt seem to be living on his own, viewing his social media. The unfamiliar setting may play part of course but hes surrounded by familiar face/leaches.

BUT.. surely youve then got to be seen to be making effort to adapt, intergrate and improve? Which he presumably hasnt or he would have had more game time. Doesnt wash with me, if youre job description meant you may or may not be called upon to work abroad for a period of your career upon YOUR agreement but then you fail to perform then theres little to hide behind. Your either capable or your not.. and thus far he hasnt shown himself to be capable.

Just as saying he must have a poor attitude or low ability is a lazy way of justifying why he isn't performing. Just as it's lazy to say he mustn't be making an effort when you aren't there to see and assess.

It's lazy, uninformed Sky Sports levels of analysis. You could be entirely correct....but none of us know apart from the people involved. Lazy gossip based on little to nothing other than stereotyped views of rich young footballers or Johnny Foreigner coming to steal a living.

Plenty of people have spells of poor performance regardless of job description. It's not a case of hiding behind something if that something is entirely valid. You're taking a lot of swings in the dark.

Agree completely that the mental struggles cant be paid off with your bank balance. That would be disgustingly naive of anyone to believe. But the point im making is this lad appears to have a full entourage with him that he has likely financed to come over with him. Just like many foreign players do so its not like hes sat in a crumby b&b on his bill. I absolutely deplore the hate iwobi got recently for flashing his wealth. I absolutely hate it, people should be allowed to do as they please. However its even more deplorable seeing a 19 year old act like hes a rapper when hes done even less to warrant his net worth. To me it screams poor attitude, zero humility and when youre not backing this self proclaimed superstar persona up on the pitch - theres clearly issues.

He wont leave as no one will pay the money required for him imo.

I think he's deffo gone next summer though when a cheaper offer from a club will likely see us atleast break even on the deal FFP speaking.

I think you'd want to see how he is going this season first? I just think he needs to find his game - honestly looks a great prospect. Nobody ever hits the ground on fire and if they do it usually drops off ala michu / jelavic etc. I reckon he's been dropped into the deep end of the best League around and Ferguson showed him in no uncertain terms you work your socks off, follow instructions or your off.

Now he's had a bollocking and an arm round the shoulder - he's got Ancelotti and a midfield - he'll kill it this season.
