Morgan Schneiderlin

Midfield is the area we need improving most mate.

We need energy in there, and with McCarthy injured and Gana away, we're now relying on an 18-year-old who has two PL starts under his belt to provide that...

Gana, Davies and Mccarthy give us energy but imo we need quality to open teams up. Looking at the table we are pretty solid in defence but we don't score enough to come anywhere near the top six.

If we sign Schneiderlin and he's our only major signing in the window we're still going to have the same problems come the end of it unless Lookman hits the ground running. We don't score enough and are over reliant on Lukaku.

If Lukaku gets injured this season people might regret hoping we sign a CM before another striker or creative player.

I agree it might be hard covering for a month but Davies looks decent and we have Barry. I don't believe in wasting big money on a player to cover one month when we'll get better returns in the long term getting a second striker or attacking midfielder.

For me Barry can't keep up anymore. Not a fan of McCarthy. So for me we have Besic, Gana and Davies. Snides coming in would probably make Besic and Davies 3rd and 4th choice.. ok... McCarthy still with us so who knows how RK sees it.

I would like to see Basic and Gana long term... switching up with Davies. Besic with game time I still believe can be a legend if he can come back without having lost his mojo. Snides coming in.. I don't believe he will get that chance. There is a massive IF here.. IF Besic can stay fit. I don't think RK will bank on it.
I agree about Barry so why anyone thinks midfield isn't a priority, whilst he is still being picked, is talking nonsense.

But you seem to be assuming we wont buy another Striker or somebody else to add creativity, we can talk to other players you know, its not just a case of sign Morgs and thats it.

Hes a quality player who will improve our midfield, if Lookman and Morgs are the only signings we make then I agree, problems havent been addressed and its a concern, but with 25+ days of the window left, I think you are getting a little bit concerned for no reason.

I tried putting Davek on ignore, but the rest of this thread made no sense as everyone else is just arguing with him.
Mate, it's so frustrating. You just know who people are responding too though just by the sheer exasperation.
Cannot be doing with that level of delusion. It's like talking to Donald Trump who will not be swain by facts, reason or just generally thinking.

£23mil for Bolasie.

£22mil for Snides (should we not Ev it up)

Two good players in their prime. Bolasie took a bad bit of luck square on.

Schneiderlin will come in and fill a vital role in the team - he has the passing range and positioning of Barry, but the added bonus he can run.

He fits into any 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 system, or a 4-2-3-1, and knows the manager and how the manager wants to play.

No. Brainer.
There's some massive over exaggerating if the qualities this feller will bring to Everton. United won't put up a fight to keep him and they have him on a long contract. That tells me a lot....and Everton are proposing to give them their money back on him!

Ridiculous.

He sounds like a good player from what everyone has said about him (haven't seen him play much myself), barring Davek, so I'm not opposed to signing him if we've got enough cash to address some of the other issues in the squad as well.

I think it's more that some people are saying CM should be our number one priority that I was disagreeing with. All about opinions and we all think different about the squad but hopefully we'll get him and address other areas too.

Schniederlin looks good in on youtube and same for Lookman. I'm just hoping we have a busy window.

Its great innit Dave.

Can you smell that? Thats new Everton that, Swansea want HOW MUCH for Williams? Oh well, just pay it, Palace want HOW MUCH for Balosie? Oh well, just pay it, United want HOW MUCH for Morgs? Oh well, just pay it.

Savour it Dave, devour it, Everton, Everton, Everton.

Blah blah blah. Look mate, I'm imparting my genuine view on a player and the reason people are responding is because they KNOW this is expensive and they KNOW that we are more desperate elsewhere. I understand fans like the new arrivals but if they don't fit our priority if needs and there it seems to fit an emerging pattern of overpayment in quite ordinary players then it has to be said. If that's ok with you like?

I see what folk are saying about the numbers of cm's we have, but at the end of the day it's all about quality not quantity. A fair few of them are pretty decent, but I think McCarthy will be gone by the start of next season, cleverley will either be gone or just nowhere, Gibson is out of contract (or nay as well be) and besic is never fit with Barry probably on his last legs next season, he's been great for us, but scheiderlin would be his replacement and a great upgrade imo. We need to improve pretty much every aspect of the team, so although this possibly isn't the most pressing matter in the squad, it's one of the most pressing in the first XI.

Mourinho won't put up a fight to keep him is what you mean mate, he never did with debruyne, lukaku, Mata, and a lot of other quality players that he let go either.

A Mug club. You want Everton to be ripped off because it gives you an inflated view of Moshiris importance to our development?

Bad decision making becomes a habit in all departments of a club. Remember the Geordie muppets doing that? Now look at the state of them.

Madness. He's brilliant entertainment.
He really isn't. He just drones on and on, WUMming as if his life depends on it.

Just a couple pages back he suggested bidding between £15m and £20m for Sigurdsson, on the basis that he is a better player than Schneiderlin. I agree that Sigurdsson is a great player, and should be one of our targets, but the obvious bit of Davek's wind-up on this topic is the suggestion that Sigurdsson could be got for £20m. Schneiderlin is going for around £22m, so how could a LOWER price could be appropriate for a goalscoring deadball specialist upon whom a relegation-threatened team are almost wholly dependent for their prem survival? Obviously it couldn't, but Davek loves to WUM so much he probably dabs after every banter-filled post.

Sigurdsson would cost £30m at least. He's just a couple weeks younger than Sissoko, who went for £30m, and is by far the better player. Schneiderlin is better than Sissoko, younger and will cost about £8m less. In summary: we should sign Schneiderlin ASAP at anything up to £24m; Sigurdsson would be a great pickup but is likely to cost £30m; Davek is a prize nincompoop.

You haven't answered my earlier question, if cm is sorted and not a priority, then who would you be starting this month there mate?
