Morgan Schneiderlin

It has shown clearly over the festive period that we are in desperate need of another midfielder - even with Gueye playing.

Koeman wants to play a high pressing, high intensity game. Barry can't do that. It cost us in the derby.

Davies is 18 and has had two PL starts. Barkley blows hot and cold. McCarthy is crocked. Cleverly is uber gash. Gibson is Gibson.

We need a player the manager knows can come in and provide energy but also composure and power on the ball.

Imagine how good this lad is going to be when he hit's his peak.

I cant believe how little some people are making of this fee. £20 odd million it'll be. A player who cant get a start at a club where he went to and had a pretty undistinguished 12 months or so under van gaal. He's 27 and by the time he comes to the end of any Everton contract the club would be lucky to get about £5M for him.

Have we lost our senses recently? I think so.

we can play Davies in Gueye's position 1. and Barry alongside him. We also can 2. play Barkley further back and he'll have the chance to break from deep against City, who he's always had a good game against.

1. No

2. Yes

The only reason anyone would want to see Barry play for Everton is that we lose football games and play slow, sloppy football.

Nice guy, been a decent pro? Ok. He has no place in a pressing, high energy Koeman side. Still baffled by the contract extension.

£20m is the new £6m. If he stays say 5 years, then he'd only be 32 (as he's only just turned 27), even with a resale value of nothing that's only £4m a season in amortisation.

He's a quality player, experienced in this division and better than what we've got. Your downer on it is illogical.
£20M is the new £6M. And Gueye was bought for £7M; Wanyama went to Spurs from S'ton for £11m.

Mourinho is going to recoup more than the cash he laid out for Gundogan by selling Everton Schneiderlin. Lol.

Great dismissal of one of our most important players of the past 4 seasons.

He's perfect to bring on in the last 15/10 mins of a game mate, in fairness - whether we need him to link our play going forward or help us see out a game.

He shouldn't - and won't - be a regular starter in the next few months though.

But Davies, Walsh - the other youngsters coming through - will all learn plenty.

Mourinho didn't buy Gundogan?

And Wanyama had a buy-out clause. As did Gueye.

Schneiderlin doesn't, but will improve us.

Anybody anybody who even thinks this is a bad signing or not worth the money or we don't need him etc etc lay of the GLUE
Wanyama = £11M last summer to Spurs...twice the player Schneiderlin is for half the price. Now tell me who's got their heads in a bag of evo-stick.

*3 and a half

Two of those seasons we finished 11th...

I love Gaz Baz.

Think he's been great overall but looking back he has hindered us at times and we need to move on - he's 36 in a month.

He hasn't got the legs to get about the pitch at pace anymore. We need that in our midfield. Unfortunately, the players we do have who can get about the pitch at pace all lack any positional sense and passing ability - both of which Schneiderlin has...
