I wouldn't put Spurs in that category. They are the role model that Everton should aspire to. When you look at the fees they have spent on players and compare to the others there is no comparison. They obviously have an excellent scouting network and tend to buy players with lots of potential but rarely the finished article. I hope Steve Walsh (ala Gana) is able to spot these type of players, as a club with our finances, it is the only way forward.

They spent £100m on players after they sold Bale, and £30m on Sissoko this summer, they aren't averse to wasting money.

10 years ago Ibrahimovic signed for less than £20M from Juve to Inter. A superstar, never mind a star.
