You know things are bad when people seriously start disussing going to three at the back...

Fairly good shout right there.
I personally wouldn't fancy the 3-5-2. When we're on the back foot, we'd be swamped. We'd have a back line of five dropping deep, and only Fellaini in the hole to break up attacks. It'd be fairly easy to bypass Arteta and Pienaar who aren't exactly the most disciplined in defensive work.
So for me, 4-4-2. Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines. Coleman, Fellaini, Rodwell, Pienaar. Saha, Beckford (given Yak is going.) Rodwell and Fellaini are both true box to box'ers and can take turns dropping off and pushing on, as they have done before Arteta came back in and shagged the balance up completely.
Why is Heitinga a genuine snide?
As for the team, not for me.
Fair enough mate..
love the thinking there tht!
but at the mo arteta wouldnt get close to any side i would put out!!! i'd have fooking hibbert in for him at the mo!! at least he would bloody fight!
Neville at CB? I'd rather play Duffy.
It's a decent idea mate, but who would score the goals in that team? Would be very reliant on Saha and Beckford.
Tubey, my point was at the moment Heitinga a) is injured b) doesn't want to play for us. If Joe Yobo was still here then obviously he'd be in there. The Neville thing is that he could sweep up and has played there for us on a couple of occasions. I'd love to think that Duffy could play there but don't think Moyesie would chance it. Also Hibbo has played Centre half a couple of times and I think I'd rather have Neville there. Obviously, if Johnny wants to have a go for us again then he'd be straight in that line up. Hope that clears the Neville thing up !!
No . Actually , NOT fair enough , kid .
Good enough is an alternative , not decry without any counter argument .
Thats just fukn lazy , Cocka .
Because he's clearly not arsed. I stood by him during the whole "I'd ride my bike to Barca" thing, because well there's nothing wrong with ambition, and Barca are Barca. But he's on a big **** off pay packet, and in all of his games this season he's not looked arsed at all. He's given the ball away nonchalantly, he's shown none of the passion he showed last year, and he was even smiling once when he was subbed off. Last year he was a fighter, and he was up for it. This year he wants off, and is letting everyone know it. I bet THT and LCAB will probably agree with me too.
Fair enough Fozzy. i think I'm still holding out the hope that he re-discovers the form we know he's capable of ! I'd probably give Rodwell or Bily a go instead of Tets at the moment.
There's nothing to clear up mate, I'm just discussing tactics I can see the logic in Neville being there, it just wouldn't be my choice personally.
It's good to see Evertonians thinking constructively about the team.
Agreed mate. He wouldn't be my first choice but I was using the present situation at the club to create a different option. If Heitinga goes then we might get a replacement centre half and he could slot in there !! Maybe Samba or someone like that.

Samba would be fantastic, just to provide a different option from set pieces too. Fellaini is oddly ineffective and we rely far too much on Cahill.
Side needs a bit of bite about it too. It's all very well having the Baines/Colemans/Artetas/Pienaars of this world buzzing around ankles, but we need the muscle to back it up. Stoke taught us a physical lesson today, and West Ham bullied Cahill out of the game too.
