My thoughts on Santa Cruz are well documented (read: I think he makes [Poor language removed] look like gold), but I'd welcome any change at all at this point.

I would like to see Anichebe partner Beckford though. Strength and pace, in a formation to suit the latter, and possibly allow him to replicate his goalscoring form of old.

This.

Out of the strikers we have i think they make the best combination.

Would like to see it. Sort of a Heskey/Owen kind of thing really.

Will never, ever happen though.

He's not playing purposely badly. He just doesn't look at all interested.

I guess a lot of that is up for interpretation; you call it post-world cup tiredness, or playing out of position. You're definitely at least partly right, but as the sourced up folk have said, he's pining for a move elsewhere. Surely, putting two and two together, you can see why he could be accused of not being bothered?

Not really, to be honest. I certainly had a look out for signs of this supposed bad attitude, but there's little wrong there. The workrate is the same, the facial expressions are typical Johnny Heitinga, no different to last season. I see a player struggling for form really. There's a massive difference between the two.

He may well want to leave, he hasn't been a fixture in the side this season, we are going nowhere, he's potentially behind Jagielka, Distin, Fellaini and Arteta and I have a feeling he knows that certain sections of our support want him gone. I don't believe his performances have anything to do with this though, and I stand by that.

Yeah he did but still never looked like getting us a goal. Problem I have with him is that he has all the tools but doesn't have the desire !!

Actually, I think he's lost the tools and has half the desire he once had. His off the ball movement has been nothing short of Brett Angell-esque.

If the term "tail end of their career" ever applied to a footballer, it's Louis Saha.

Could work. I'd rather any combination that did not include Saha..

RFUS in?

P.S. @ THT: Did you not include Saha in your lineup; the original post in this thread? Tut tut.

Fair enough toccy mate. I won't argue, that's your opinion and I'm in no place to say I'm definitely right. No one is really, but Heitinga.

I do however know he wants to go -- for just reasons or not -- and I hope he does, so we can invest in other areas of the squad.

No mate he's the MODERN DAY FOOTBALLER !! Too much money so when its tough it just doesnt matter enough ! If they could only have some of our desire hey ?

Stop. Posting. Stuff. I. Agree. With. xD

RFUS.... Yes I did because I thought maybe in a two he might have a go. Victor only has 7 goals in his Everton career so isn't exactly prolific ! I'd have Yak over both of them but hey ho....

Fair enough mate.

It'll certainly be interesting to see what we do in January, things need freshening up, big time.
