Moyes HAS to do something big

I'm actually coming to the opinion now that I wouldnt be averse to seeing Anichebe (obviously) and another player leave to free up more funds for players who can improve us.

Even, dare I say it Heitinga or Jagielka......then see if Moyes can make some decent young signings who would improve the side.

As long as Fellaini, Baines and Jelavic stay I'd be quite keen to see Moyes take a gamble for once.

1 --I'm sick of us treating European qualification as the holy grail. How does it work out that we all start crossing our fingers in January that we go on a run and finish in the top 6 or 7 ?

2 --Moyes crying about having no money?! Wasn't it him who brought in McFadden and Hahnemann for NO REASON last season ?

3 -- We have a small squad with THREE right backs....what kind of fool has 3 right backs with one being a local lad and another being the captain -- then a year ago says coleman will be played at right back.....which he wasn't.

4 -- If Mr Moyes thinks that selling Cahill, Yobo and now Rodwell is part of a grandiose plan to conquor the league through player wheeling and dealing then he's sadly mistaken. NONE of them were first eleven players from January.

5 -- Does Moyes feel a free steven naismith and a re-signing of Steven Pienaar are going to galvanise the squad??

ONE MORE YEAR ON MOYES CONTRACT......

For me now he has to do these things;

1 -- SELL Anichebe
2 -- BUY 2-3 TOP QUALITY young players who can play some exciting football or at least players who can be seen to have the POTENTIAL to enable us to do so.
3 -- DO NOT SIGN STOPGAPS
4 -- Play Duffy and Barkley into the team....
5 -- Take risks

ANYONE complaining about the board has to take a long look at how a manager can have 3 RIGHT BACKS + ANICHEBE + makes signings of Hahnemann and McFadden.

I'm beginning to turn on Moyes now as ultimately he's the one who has made the above decision on squad personnel.

I've turned on all of them. I'm a hopeless optimist (no pun intended) usually but i'm sick of it. As with others on here, i've sacked off my season ticket (20 years) and am seriously considering not going at all until it changes.

1. Rodwell ain't that good. (it's not a disaster, until we get new investment we have to sell occasionally)

2. To imply people that disagree with you are in cahoots with the club makes you sound like a 5 year old.

You make some good points sometimes but then you go and ruin any credence of credibility coming out with that kind of post.

The thing about Everton mate is that they still are a community club. Now that's good and bad at the same time. It's good because it makes supporters feel part of soemthing intimate (and the club through Everton in the Community etc do a lot of decent work). It's bad though because it makes it a very amateurish and parochial organisation. That means that someone like Kenwright - who despite it all can be seen as a charismatic leader - can play the Lord of the Manor, handing out favours in return for the tribute that keeps him cemented in power. He and his entourage are masters of glad-handing and pulling people close to them; giving out little messages to opinion formers to make them feel special and doling out freebie tickets and invites to the club lounges or a trip to the directors' box. It's that micro-management that Kenwright excels at. There's inevitably a trickle down effect onto forums like this where every unsupportable decision taken by this board of directors is backed up to the hilt by those people. They have a vested interest in keeping the status quo with Bill in control. It makes them feel special. I've been about this club longer than I care to remember - and that above ^^^ is a realist view of matters, not a conspiracy theory. It's those peope who Kenwright is referring to when he talks about 'the Everton Family'. And they come out the woodwork in legions when firesales like that Rodwell one are done.

Moist is the solution, not the problem.

I've thought so....and I was impressed when Cahill was offloaded as I expected him to keep him until he couldnt walk let alone play football....

However even delving a little deeper;

Heitinga is 29 in November
Jagielka is 30 in August
Hibbert is 32 in February
Distin is 35 in December
Neville is 36 in January

Then we have Baines 28 in December + Coleman 24 in October and Duffy is 20.

At the END of this season we will have;

A -- 3 defenders who are OVER 32 years old with ZERO resale value.
B -- 2 Defenders who are 29+30 respectively who will be about to see their values nosedive
C -- 3 defenders who still have a while in the tank

My question is "Why has Moyes let us get to this point with our defence, where in 1 years time we will see 5 players values being less than they were last season no matter how they perform?".

Whats happened to the stories of him bringing down the age of the squad?

Add this to Osman being 32 in a year and Pienaar being 31 next year this is beginning to look rather worrying!!!

All with no recognised right midfielder and Anichebe as backup forward.

Hang on. Bail with them posts until he spends the Rodwell money ffs. You have no idea on who he will bring in, im hoping for youth, but to assume the way you are that he wont is ridiculous. Come out and say all this when he has done buying players, until then, calm down.

LOOK FORWARD A SEASON......then what ? Then replace half a team with buttons.

And wtf does the highlighted part mean ? Is that american as it doesnt make any sense.

Manchester United just finished 2nd in the League, they have 2 players, Paul Scholes 37 and Ryan Giggs 38.who played around 30 games.

The squad has a lot of older players, but we also have younger players.

Age is just a number, judge the man, not his birthday.

That's my point though, they can replace players.....they also have a big squad full of young players.

We cant and we dont.
