That big fat head is full of knowledge though and birsting at the seems, he's massively underrated and his record appears terrible because he's been sacked by some terrible chairman with little or no patience
How much patience are you expected to give a manager struggling to keep a team in the premier league? He'd be another Walter Smith IMO.

I dont think so mate, if we dont give him a chance we might be passing up a great opportunity. Like we said yesterday though McCarthy would be my first choice.
We all have our choices mate, but Steve Bruce would be one of the last managers I would consider for the Everton job.

Fair play mate, I wouldn't want to sway you one way or another, you're your own man and clearly make up your own mind, I wouldnt expect to convince you to take someone you perceive to be a crap manager.

Not so sure I'd agree with that assessment if I'm honest mate - i dont think hes that bothered what the average punter thinks and id query the level of expectation on who the next manager is going to be for the fanbase to be "buttered up". but hypothetically i suppose it could be sold in terms of conistencey and stability maybe with an elder states man an tech/director of football!

Who knows, not that I'm for it, but the point of the thread is to discuss possible scenarios, I don't think it's out of the realms of possibility if I'm honest, in fact there are many threads in the vaults about Irvine taking over - post Moyes!

But hey no one has a clue really, so why get wound up!

Wise words! Wound up indeed!

Steve Bruce? Mick McCarthy? What's that sobbing sound in the distance? Why, it's Jesus weeping.

Come on mate, it's all well and good cracking jokes about it, but why not? They're both decent alternatives when you actually look into it properly, if you can't see it then that's a shame, but I'd rather one of those 2 than a lot of the other names being mentioned.

Bungle you are either (a) on a massive wind-up mission or (b) Bill Kenwright in disguise guaging public opinion on his secret (inept) plans

Neither mate, nobody has actually given me genuine reasons as to why either would be a bad appointment, they both have ability and have never been fully backed financially by the clubs they've been at so have never amassed a squad with the quality ours has. I think with the quality we have both managers would flourish and we'd see a marked improvement in league position and more importantly trophy cabinet.
