SOOOOO frustrating, yet compared to Chelsea signing a free agent manager and Man City signing a free agent manager ours is infinitely more complicated.

Even after the lengthy interview process and endless speculation there is compensation to be agreed with Wigan for the manager, then for the backroom staff he wants to bring with him, and then personal terms with all of them. Plus there must be background talks with Moyes' backroom staff to find out who's staying and who's going, and talks with the ones who are staying and Martinez himself to agree their roles.

A headache all round, I guess, not helped by our self-appointed spokesman Dave Whelan giving a running commentary, although I do have a very small amount of sympathy for Wigan as they're in limbo until this is all sorted, and they have a massive summer ahead to replace half of their squad as well as their manager and most of their coaching staff.

What's Moyes been doing now re his backroom staff?

According to the Guardian Everton can't confirm anything until they know the make-up of Martinez's back-room staff and the compensation they will be required to pay Wigan. This is complicated by uncertainty over who Moyes wants to take with him to Manchester United. Moyes has had weeks to sort this out... has he skipped off on holiday or is he dithering?

Just out of interest do you think that Martinez will take it easier on the team during practice, we are well known for our fitness and fighting till the last whistle. Dont want us to lose that.

Right. Then yes, we seem to be dancing to other peoples tunes here. Pathetic really. We don't seem to have any leverage. Kenwright was naive and irresponsible for allowing us to get into the position of us receiving no compensation
and not seeming to make any plans for the strawberry blonde one leaving. Trouble is BK seems to worship Moyes - rather than frog-marching him off the premises when he said he wanted to leave us.

He's a qualified physio and also has his own fitness people. I think if anything he could have the players better prepared physically, as we did seem to suffer with a lot of soft tissue injuries over the years.

Listening to the fans? Martinez wasn't exactly a top choice, appreciate he was some fans choice, but he was way down the pecking order for most. As has been backed up by pretty much every online poll

In fairness, this was never going to be an X Factor style fans vote. He said from the off that he'd listen to the fans, but that ultimately it'd be his choice. So he's not lied at all, he's just not hired the fans forums favourite.
