Generally speaking I'm staggered at the acceptance of 11 years of underachievement from the outgoing manager and the rejection by many of the same people of a manager who's quite obviously his tactical superior.

None of these supposed options play in the Premier League and none of them will come with as good a wage packet as at Everton.

Managing Everton in the Premier League is a big job, I don't think Pereira is an a position to be demanding the biggest jobs in Europe. Porto wouldn't be letting him go if he was that big.

Everton is a big, exciting job with very good wages.
