For where we are at the moment, the main determining aspect of who we get in should be the kind of players they'd attract. We have a good first team already, we don't need a five year plan or a new youth strategy, we need quality players. That's my main worry about Martinez, who's he going to get? What are his contacts like? Would he do a Rodgers and sign Allens and Borinis? Even Phil Neville would be better placed in that respect and he's not even a manager. That's the advantage of having someone like Laudrup, loads of players would want to play for him just because he's Michael Laudrup.
It's disappointing, all the work from Moyes trying to nudge his way into the higher circles and we'll probably be back down with the peasants in a matter of months.
