I think it's telling about everton that this time last year as a club and probably as fans I doubt Laudrup would have even made a shortlist but now he'd be near enough number one choice . It illustrates that There are managers out there but I suspect we'd most likely just go for Martinez .

Signed an extension till 2015 mate. Not sure how compensation works but you'd think it would be over a million at least.

I'd think you were right but we've no idea what he's got in his contract , what clauses or whatever or even the much vaunted and as we know fairly worthless verbal agreements . I know moyes felt kenwright wouldn't stand in his way if a 'big job' came along but I'm not sure everybody else was as confident .
So in short a useless speculative post from me .

I remember Goodison being a graveyard for centre halves who had looked more than decent elsewhere. won't go into my theory why that was happening cos it winds people up, but his record everywhere else has been pretty spot on. would bring a profile to the club that may attract players and doesn't seem to have any issue with us. Moyes, i think has gone. He has too much pride to stay after the criticism from Wigan game. he has given us stability but deep down he must know that something else is needed now. the 'wait and see' nonsense is just a way of avoiding a backlash now
Usually it's in terms of the value of the deal , ie paying up the contract which is why the rolling one year contracts are so popular or there could be a release clause . However with it being a new deal he might have asked for clauses to be inserted, laudrup knows his star is rising and that he's in the box seats at Swansea winning a trophy and he's also stinking rich I think he might have something in there .
Not sure if i'd want him if he's going to continue his habit of moving on every two seasons. I think he's got his eyes set on the top, we need somebody to come in straight away and steady the ship IF Moyes goes.
