Moyes sacked by United

Agreed, any world class players they try to sign now are going to walk into Old Trafford and say "right then, whats your top earner on? 300k a week you say, ok, lets start there"
We can fix this. Come back to Everton, Wayne. We'll let you play here for 50k/week. Paid to us. To get out of that disaster.

All Dynasty's rise and all Dynasty's fall. Manchester United i personally believe will go the way Liverpool did at the beginning of the 90's. United fans need to be prepared for a long barren run. No matter what Manager comes in now without any European football, a squad that needs a complete overhaul and a board that i personally do not believe will invest massively means that the good old days have well and truly been banished for a long time.

Watch the sponsors etc run a million miles when next year they make two years without champions league football. Its going to be one long road back for United.

I doubt it. I think they'll be challenging again with a couple of seasons and probably winning it.

They are the second biggest club on the planet. Organisations like that dont just go quietly into the night.

It's on effn' Newsnight!

Totally forgetting about how much damage he was doing commercially.

The money men were getting embarrassed.

Do not count on it. Just one season out of European competition can set a club like Man United back a long way, coupled with the fact that the squad needs a complete overhaul with no stability at the top and they are a grand recipe for disaster. The Glazers were sitting pretty with Ferguson there as he knew football, he lived and breathed the game and had a certain gravitas about him. Without that and a CEO who by all accounts seems as inept at his job as what Moyes deemed to be this season and they are in for a bumpy ride.

You have to take into account also that any players they do try to spend money on are likely to be courted by other clubs around Europe who can offer European football and its not going to be easy at all, in the Premier league alone you will have Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and to a lesser extent (as much as it pains me to say) us and Spurs who can offer more than what United can for the next season. For United to get the players in they will need to pay way over the odds on fee and wages and any 'warchest'; they may well have had(which i doubt anyway) will soon be blown away.

David Moyes, was built up as part of a Redsnide media conspiracy. It suited Redsnide pundits to propogate the myth that without Moyes Everton would implode, thus enuring three things. 1) Irritating us with their patronising comments. 2) Building the myth that Moyes was a managerial genius. 3) Laying the ground for Moyes to go to OT.

Look what happened when he did - THEY are back top of the league and Utd are in ruins. It is so obvious!

IT MUST BE TRUE!

All industries which rule for long periods of time are at risk of being swallowed by a tectonic shift of power. UTD are prime for that.

Fergie always seemed to plan two years ahead whereas rival clubs could only really concentrate on the season in front of them. This is why he always ended up back ahead of the game.

Approaching retirement and under pressure from local rivals City, something changed. Fergie couldn't countenance retiring in 2nd place, he poured everything into one last effort, squeezing the last drops out of an aging squad and buying van Persie.

Of course Moyes made a balls of the window and the players didn't buy into his methods and so on, wasting another season, but the bottom line NOW is that United are 2-3 seasons behind where they normally would be

This has to be the most ridiculous post I've ever read on got and I read the match threads

Should Utd fail to make CL for more than 2 years then watch an almighty build up of pressure and scheming to draw up a new European set up - with Utd in it of course.

Bringing back Scholes, holding on to Giggs, Evra, Rio the injury riddled Vidic, a jaded looking Rooney, van Persie wasn't bought with the future in mind. The rest of the squad (Mata aside) is hardly the stuff of superstars.

They needed to rebuild 3 years ago by adding genuine world class talent in its prime.

No, they rage, rage against the dying of the light.

This whole episode does nobody any good. Moyes and Ferguson behaved dishonourably (I now realise) in sewing up a succession without having the decency to involve Moyes' then employers....way before the end of his contract and while he was still trying to get us into Europe. Ferguson seems to think that he runs the game and is somehow above the courtesies by which we mortals must abide. Disgraceful.

Then Moyes' behaviour in the window last year.

The game itself has been reduced and dishonoured.

Add to that the numpty behaviour of some Man U fans (not all) who seem to think that their club is special and a unique case. Reminder to all Stretford Enders: nobody has a divine right to continuing success. Clubs rise and fall. That's why we all spend money on tickets.....in the hope that one day, our club will win. the minute it becomes a formality as some man u fans seem to think it should, the game is lost forever.

But what's happened in the last 24 hours defies any logical analysis. They gave him a six year contract for goodness sake.....thought they'd worked out that rebuilding a side is a long haul. Clearly they had not.

I take no joy in watching a man's life ambition crumble in the space of a few weeks. He'd been working towards this chance since he was playing in Bristol....it's his life work. Just think how that must feel. I take no pleasure in his humiliation.

The whole sorry saga has left a disgusting taste in my mouth. I hope a storming finish from Roberto's boys will take it away. That perhaps is the saving grace. RM has behaved with dignity throughout....in the transfer window last year......at the Hillsborough service....when stating that he hoped DM would get a warm welcome back at GP....and magnanimous in victory. Well in RM.

Certain banks have. Airlines. High street names.

Darwin. Survival of the fittest.

United have become so bloated on glory hunter support and dictates from the stockmarkets

They're no longer the fittest.
