Moyes sacked by United

Agree they need a clear out but from what I understand the class of 92 including even beckham hold massive sway in the club and they all back each other up.

Got me thinking that, could the same actually be said about our class of 1970, 3 went on to manage us a total of 5 times between them for nearly 17 years in a row (walkers disastrous 10 months and caretaker spells aside), wouldn't shock me to see several of their class of 92 eventually managing United down the line - maybe sooner if Giggs finishes the season with good results...

The 'United Way' turned out to require a unique leader at the top - Sir Alex, just like Sir Matt before him. They need to make the decision now whether the 'United Way' dies here and they become another rich club demanding immediate results, or if they are going to float about in the top half, but rarely winning until they can find their next great long term United Man.

Very apt that you cite SAF & SMB as they were bookends to a 25 yr period of high expectation, high spending and abject failure to land owt but a few FA cups. The 'united way' is predicated on a year zero approach ie 1993 onwards. The previous 25 yrs is somewhat airbrushed ( to tart it up rather than erase it). The Theatre of Dreams would have been a more accurate description of OT between 1967 & 1993 rather than when they started to properly win stuff. It would be more accurate to place the the SAF era as a unique point in the clubs history rather pretending it was merely a continuation of long running tradition of success. Indeed, it would also relieve the pressure on his successors, bit late for 'our boy' but still....

Hahahaha.......

Now, that was cruel.

They were spoilt with Ferguson and whoever takes over wont be anywhere near his level. They missed the boat 12 months ago.

Moyes was United's Hodgson. Completely out of his depth and didn't get the club...Hodge said something similar to Moyes ("we played well") after losing at Goodison in a derby. For Moyes a draw was a good result. He has spent 11 years watching his team lose at United, RS, Arse, Chels without a solitary win that losing is engrained in him. It's very hard to shift that mentality to one of we must win. To come out and state in home games at Old Trafford that "lpool are favourites", "Bayern are favourites", and "Man City are the benchmark"...the man was an imposter at United. Had no business being there. Ferguson has disgraced himself by effectively appointing him. Loser mentality, dour football, draconian training methods (the amount of soft tissue injuries rapidly increased under Moyes). If I was a Newcastle fan I'd be gutted if he took over from Pardew.

His apparent outrage at the 'manner' of his sacking is surely the reaction of a man whose arrogance is born from being used to being rewarded, not held accountAble for, failure.

Moyes failure is in some ways Everton's, because his bottling, arrogant and egotistical ways were never called out here.

What I really don't get our why Moyes completely abandoned his 'hidden gems' philosophy. I think it would have been more palatable if he bought 4-5 really talented players at 5mil each like was his forte at Everton. I think they would have seen it as building for the future, which United needed anyways. Instead he buys two players that weren't even needed.

With those signings he w

Quite the opposite in actual fact, he was lauded as some kind of saviour. Plucky old Everton glorious in defeat. It shows how far we had slipped in the eyes of the national media that they could not see just as a lot of Everton fans could not see how the man had held us back for the last few years of his reign.

Moyes reign at Everton for me was a bit like being with your bird for years and years and only knowing one kind of way of having sex. It fulfills its duty and its comfortable but its not the most adventurous. You then split up and some dirty sort has her wicked way with you and you are enlightened to a whole new level of pleasure. That's right Bobby M you are my dirty little sort!!

The David Moyes 'Chosen One' banner is apparently being sold on eBay, with the highest bid currently standing at £153,900. It has the description: "One previous owner, well used, highly sought after and will soon be a relic."

Thinking about the stick he took for trying to take Fellaini and Baines with him to Man Utd, isn't this little different from what Kendall did with Reid etc at City?

If the sports news is to be believed this morning the directors along with SAF decided the fate of Moyes, and also SAF is to have an in put into who will succeed Moyes you would think there would swerve any advice given by him.

Anyone predicting United's downfall after one season in the doldrums on the back of total Premier League dominance for a quarter of a century are living on fantasy island. It's like believing Barcelona are going into decline after this season without a trophy.

These organisations are not just top teams in their own league, they are global sporting phenomenons who will just keep rolling until they click into the right gear again and then they're off steamrollering opposition. The stadium, the commercial tie ups, the media frenzy around them, the pull they have behind the scenes. We're not talking about Liverpool or Arsenal here. This is Manchester United.

Alright la, take your penis out of your hand next time you post.

United have a rebuilding job on their hands, and in the meantime they've allowed six teams to overtake them comfortably. Now if these teams can continue to build then that'll just go to make it more difficult for United to regain this supremecy over them.

Sure they've got the money and the name, but it's not all about money any more in terms of winning or dominating the leagues... look at Atletico and Liverpool.
