Moyes to Sunderland

That's true, he didn't help himself, but let's not paint the fact that United team had average, at best, players in it - the ones mentioned, Fellaini who didn't know how to play all of a sudden, Rooney on the decline (early stages of it), the list goes on. In fact, here it is - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013–14_Manchester_United_F.C._season#Squad_statistics . I wouldn't touch 2/3 of those players, barring RVP, Rooney, De Gea and Mata.

5 years ago isn't the same as "now" though, isn't it? Especially if the previous 4 of those you had arguably the best manager in history. It didn't matter who the next one was, he wasn't going to be as good.

Re: the squad - the meh - Bebe, Cleverley, Anderson, Macheda, Phil Jones, Evans; the ageing - Evra, Giggs, Ferdinand, Vidic, Carrick (even though he was quality more often than not, to his credit); the crap ones - Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia as a RB, Nani, Rafael. Basically a downgrade on our own squad. Good - RVP, Rooney, De Gea, Mata. Kagawa wasn't for this league and it was evident.

And yet, Rooney and RVP were both on nearly 20 goals. He was so crap, definitely not the pitchfork situation because of his (crap) personality, like. Or because ManUre fans wanted others and not him. Or because the old dogs in the squad didn't like him, like Terry 'helped' Chelsea make a decision recently too.

If anything, Moyes going there was only going to highlight how he's not SAF and how SAF won the league with clowns.
Cut it whatever way you want mate. He went there to take over the English champions who'd romped the previous season's title race by 11 points.

Ferguson got 89 points in that last season from substantially the same players Moyes had at his disposal. Moyes went there and spent another £68M with no big sales and they ended up 7th on 64 points. It was catastrophic.

Why on earth you'd want to defend that record I dont know. He's gone down in that club's history as a joke and the rest of football were embarrassed for him.

Because it's not so plain is it? There were other factors, and LVG did exactly as bad, if not worse, than Moyes, given the fact he 'strenghtened' the squad.

Also pot calling kettle black with defending an absolute clown and embarrassment of a manager. xx

Nice to get another perspective on the matter. To what extent is moyes to blame for what is happening this season considering the injury crisis and the lack of backing? Not a negative question so please don't interpret it as that, I find it interesting to know moyes contribution to it considering we know his contributions to us over the years here

For me we have no fight. Seems we lose games before we even kick off. Not saying it's all his fault but the end of the day the buck stops with the manager.

We must win on Saturday or I'd sack him. Last chance for me this weekend.

To be perfectly honest with you mate, that is how Everton never really kicked on during his time here. As limited as things were and boy that is a long story, we feared teams before we even got onto the pitch with them. That is why the derby record is so terrible with him, it almost felt after so long that Moyes set his teams out to play Rush Dagliesh and Keegan rather than some of the average players that we lined up against.

have you got any "Death" fancy dress costumes mate. Think one of our lads may have a spare one of you ask nicely;)

Yet, the 6 points for that one place higher cost LVG how much? The FA Cup was in the 2nd year, with his own team. The only reason he even stayed this long is because he has this thing Moyes doesn't - personality - as well as a good background. Also luck - that was such a freak season in it's own right. Re: background though - LVG was a boss manager exactly 5 years before taking charge of Man Utd, winning loads of trophies. By your own logic, he should've won everything in sight, right? Except he was fighting for 4th both years.

Moyes won that fake trophy on his first game as well lol without even making any transfers at that point. Also this - Cleverley, Carrick, Giggs. What a star midfield that was. On the other hand LVG spent £250m to have a midfield of Rooney, Carrick and Fellaini (as the attacking mid/second striker, not Rooney), so I can't really tell which one was actually worse.

Martinez was found out to be a fraud and was our worst manager in recent times. Also relegated Wigan when he won that cup (a record, by the way, as both happened within a week), what a great achievement that was. Phenomenal, some would say. Dave Whelan broke his leg at some point, too, but I don't think we can be sure about that, he's keeping info that close to himself.

Yup. I can't believe someone is still w over this clown lol.

Is he still there?

Sunderland have just accepted that's it then. I'm astounded. They have one ;last chance if they get rid right now.

I disagree mate. It is far too late now to change it and hope to stay up barring a miracle. Who is out there, right now who can come in and get that team playing good enough to stay up?
