I have morals mate, sick of seeing gulf states ruining the game as much as I enjoy watching City play. It’ll all cave in before long, then where are the club’s gonna be?

I agree but if the choice is to watch a ruined game whilst we win titles and trophies or watch a ruined game whilst we finish midtable every year surely the first option is the best ?

That's not true, is it? Only Man Utd have outspent City in the last decade, followed by PSG then Barca. City are still spending big by fine-tuning an already super team and properly the team in the world for the last 5 years.

Last 5 years
Man Utd
Arsenal
Chelsea
Newcastle
Tottenham

2023:

10-year-spend-vs-team-2.png

2022:
"In terms of net expenditure, United have outspent fellow powerhouse clubs Manchester City (£826.6m), Paris Saint-Germain (£790.4m) and Barcelona (£546m) - all of whom have won five or more league titles during that period, compared with United's sole title in 2012/13."

I find it funny though, that West Ham have spent £200m more than us, most of the time fighting regulation, but the media never mentions their huge spending like they do with us.

Because we have for a number of seasons been the club with the highest turnover to wages ratio in the premier league.

Plus, in the last few season West Ham's turnover has gone flying past ours. The net spend on Transfers doesn't show the full picture. Look at Liverpool's net spend, 80 million more but their wage bill is nearly double ours.

Again no guarantee we would win a trophy

But even so at least we could pay our money to watch good players and have european tours.

There is a reason why none of City/PSG/Newcastle have failed - they're run superbly by very clever people and can afford the best of everything mate.

Newcastle have got 4th once, they have won nothing so far, you can’t compare them to City or PSG

Why do they want to make improvements now? If they want more equity longterm us struggling they will obtain at a better price.
Because if we get relegated because Moshiri, kenwright and co are still on the board, calling the shots and interfering with transfers etc, or withholding cash which could have been spent if investment had come in earlier, then we are instantly worth a lot less so waiting until the window closes could see their asset then drop massively in value within a year.

Newcastle are literally a year in. Signs are good for them, but it’s a bit early to say it’s a roaring success. We got Europe a few times under Moshiri in the early years.

3rd and a cup final in 18 months of new ownership is pretty good going.

I find it funny how the narrative is that there is no guarantee a gulf state buyout would result in success when the numbers show we're more likely to fail / "make a pigs ear of it" under US ownership.

Hicks & Gilette
Randy Lerner
Ellis Short
Glazers
Khan

Just to name a few.

Zero guarantee that MSP/777 would achieve anything here their track record elsewhere in football (particularly MSP) is pretty poor/average.
