Im still confused how a billionare helps football clubs with these FFP rules. I mean even if we had a billionaire our revenue is pants and that is what FFP is based on? If you have no revenue you cant spend irrespective of how much money the owner had?
You're right. A billionaire alone doesn't solve anything.

You'd imagine most billionaires would like to protect their investment and immediately recruit the very best management team to look after the business.

Moshiri was chosen specifically by Kenwright because he could control him.

"Don't worry, Farhad..... I know what I'm doing. Just keep topping up the transfer pot"

That's Moshiris ace play in this.

He has a stadium worth maybe 1bn, plus a PL football club. If those things happen, he would likely get more. But it's a huge risk.

I've said it before that getting the stadium finished will be the only way he gets out with anything.

He won't make back what he put in but could easily find ways to make money off the stadium if he leased it back to the club etc.

We have a billionaire owner. Despite the Uzmanov links, Moshiri is a billionaire in his own right. Yet we need to borrow from an external investment group to finish the stadium? Surely Moshiri can finish it off with his own money, even if its loaned (like Chelsea did with Abramovic for years).

Thought it was trumpeted at the time that FM’s investment had resolved all the pre-existing loans and debts… obviously not.

Unless it was Blue Bill's ace in the hole to keep his job and bank account stocked. He never took a wage from the club yanno

Others may well be able to clarify, but I'm pretty sure that in the land lease agreement with Peel this isn't possible.

The stadium 'building' is owned and operated by Everton Football Club/The Everton Stadium company.

Any change to this agreement and Peel can in effect, evict the club and insist it's returned to a Dock.

I know you are joking, but nobody, it will just be a relief to watch the sport of football, watching as it eats itself with greed and it no longer having its death hold on my emotions.

Without Everton, football would bring me nothing but joy.
Not that I would like to see Everton going bust (can't imagine it tbh), but I think lower leagues would bring us more joy than struggling every year just to stay up in the PL.

Actually my local football club in Poland was relegated to 4th tier 15 years ago and it was fun - winning games, travelling to new places and stadiums, squad full of young players determined to bring us back where we belong and much better connection with the fans.

We had some rough years and it took us 5 years to get back to elite, but it was far from doom and gloom.

Guess its a sad reality of modern football.

You do know how they become billionaires right? They don’t usually spend their money, in fact I’ve been saying for years on here that Moshiri is maxing our credit card at the casino. His incompetence at running our club has cost us as he loaded us with more and more debt.

Hope thats the case.

But we all know that we don't 100% know how this club is ran.

Mosh will have an exit plan IMO. It will involve the stadium. If not he'll jump ship and take a hit on his investment...which more or less would mean he'd sell to whoever wants to give him £500mill+.

Which isn't good.

Oh yeah, there's no denying it's a mess.

It just depends how desperate/disinterested Moshiri is?

I think if somebody came in now with a (very) generous 500m he'd be sorely tempted to cut and run.

As for being bought out by a billionaire, you'd imagine the common factor of our continued mess would be gone. I've said for years and years nothing improves at Everton until 'Chairman Bill' and all his arse sniffers are removed, and the whole building is scrubbed with bleach to remove the stench of failure.

Yep. Which isn't a good sign as he'd sell to any one.

Don't think clubs can do that anymore...

I have been flippantly saying that we are on the verge of possible liquidation.

How close to the truth is that statement though?

Thanks
