We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton...

Dan Plumley has insisted that £600million was always “very high” after 777 Partners were said to be ready to pay that much to take over the club.

Kenwright wields a lot of power at this football club mate - if you speak out against him you're out the door and blacklisted from Goodison. Just look at Big Nev who should be a club ambassador and how he's been treated in comparison to say Sharp.

Its easy in our position to say DBB, Sharp should go public against BK buts lets be honest if we were in a position of earning a LOT of money running the football club you love and support - would you really rock the boat and get blacklisted just so the twitter-verse see you as a martyr as you head off down the dole to sign on ?

I sure wouldn't and I'll happily be called a sell out/scab/shill but thats the truth and I imagine it would be for 99% of Evertonians.
Just look at Big Nev and look at how he revered he is by everyone who matters. He wont have any struggles in life. Shes choosing who her enemy is, and who here friend is. Its indeed easy to say in our position they should go public against BK. If, like her, I had already made over 7-8 million at the expense of the club, I would 1000000% stand up for it and lose my job to regain it in a year or two when he was removed and new leadership brought on board.

Where has this gotten her? The ship she chose to be on is sinking, and she will be forever linked to him, even after shes terminated from Everton.

It really needs a night of the long knives.

Cut our every last bit of Kenwright rot on the payroll.

Start with DBB, then Sharp and work your way down. Anybody who even suggests that Kenwright was doing well over the years can hitch on to his departing wagon.

If that doesn't happen he'll be continously reaching out to mates on the inside fishing for info, gobbing off on the media etc. Everton is the only thing keeping him relevant.

He needs removing and a hatchet job, a load of Kenwright stories from those previously silenced releasing soon after. Expose him and cut his legs off. He cannot be allowed to show his face ever again.

I guarantee you said the same thing about Leicester 2-3 seasons ago when they were a conveyer belt of talent, finishing top 6 yet where are they now ? I'll tell you where somewhere that Moshiri's Everton has never been - in the Championship.

Like Leicester Brighton will take a dip at some point and you'll have to find the next Swansea/Wolves/Leeds/Leicester/Brighton that we should aspire to be.
True but what a great position they have got themselves in. In the below they probably have another £300 + of talent that can be sold to rebuild. Compare that to us lol

Mcallister
Caicedo
Ferguson
Mitoma
Enciso

Newcastle arnt as rich as you think, they are owned by an investment group, the same investment group that owns 100s of other things, the group may have billions but it’s not Newcastles

Which belongs to the state that is estimated to have £500billion worth of assets.

It's an endless money pit they can't "distribute" funds to whatever they want.

Only thing stopping them spraying it over Newcastle is FFP. And even then they're getting round it by jumping their current £8mill commercial sponsorship revenue to £30mill behind the "Champions League" shadow (they would've done it regardless of finishing 4th anyway).

They've banked £100mill on player sales (made around £140mill, spent £40mill). Will no doubt bank another £100mill next season which excludes transfers.

They'll get themselves in a position where they don't need to sell to buy to be comfy in the premiership. That's the difference.

All the other teams mentioned have owners with money issues.

The counter point may be mate, that Brighton or Brentford are getting close now.

Or consider it another way, Sevilla have just won a 7th Europa league. Theyve also won domestic cups, and a super cup. They're no bigger than us. But we have to start thinking like someone like Sevilla, and not thinking we are the Everton of the 60s.

It's not league titles, which we all want, but christ on a bike, if you said over the next 15-20 years we would win 7 Europa leagues, an FA Cup, Charity shield and Super cup would we all not see that as a golden era?

Absolutely the right way to look at it. We all want to be amongst the best but there are plenty of ways to be successful in relative rather than absolute terms.

I'd absolutely love a European trophy and would love to be in West Hams position now.

The bigger issue is achieving some degree of consistency and sustainability at the upper end. It is only with deep pockets that is done but it doesn't mean we can't have a club that never gives us anything to really be happy about.

This is in no way a defence of her, but where are you getting £7-8m from?

Yeah everyone thought they were going to throw millions around, but apart from Gordon they haven't really
Newcastle have a net spend of £255m since the takeover in October 21 (Three transfer Windows) This was against a history of poor historic commercial performance and with one eye on P&S/FFP going forward. That is more than we ever spent in the earlier years under Moshiri so they are not being too mean with their spending.

The only thing better than getting rid of Kenwright and his mob, would be to then go on and win something with new investors/owners or get top 4 within two to three years. I know it’s fanciful, but that really would be something to prove rubber stamp how poor he was (in the eyes of the outside world) and it would be a huge blow to his massive ego.

Wow I didn't realise it was that much, the media are spinning it they have done it the right way.
While we have done it the wrong way
