Newcastle being the only club in a North East city will always be an inherent disadvantage to them compared to Liverpool, Manchester and London clubs. If you want to add to that, the city of Newcastle doesn't have the historical or global pull as Liverpool, Manchester and London.

Their only selling point is the fans and even then I don't think their fanbase is anything special, particularly if you factor in that they're a one club city. They tried to create a rivalry with Sunderland but it doesn't stand up to the organic rivalries that exist in other cities.

If you also consider their overall history and small honours list then I think it's fair to say that Newcastle, even with wealthy custodians, never have and never will be truly classed in the same bracket as some other bigger clubs.
Not really a city is it either Newcastle. It’s like Garston on one side of the river, Birkenhead (Gateshead) on the other and Huyton down the road (Sunderland).

I guess it's all in the terms of the loan.
Looks like Moshiri doesn't want to relinquish control
and this is likely the only way he can keep the wolves from the door and still own a controlling stake
Fair on Moshiris side as it seems he just wants to get to the stadium and then get out without losing anymore. For MSP though, if it’s a loan with a set payback period, they’re taking money out of the club at a time when we really need it. Just doesn’t sit right.
