It's fair. I'm glad we're buying some young talent.

But we've invested £56million in left backs in Baines, Digne, Mkylonko

We've invested £13mill in right backs in Phil Neville, Coleman and now Patterson.

Just don't expect trees being ripped up
Hahaha it's mad that our first RB singing in so many years is a kid, and for a position we have needed for what 5 years?

But I like the signing

Money doesn’t guarantee success and cheap doesn’t necessarily mean bad. Coleman at 60k was my favourite player before his leg break, Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin, Tosun, Gbamin, Kean, Keane, Bolasie all cost loads and contributed way below their outlay (the kindest way I could put that).

12m reported fee potentially rising to 16m. Hopefully we end up paying that. I like the signing, good engine, strong. Bags of potential. As someone that keeps a close eye on Celtic I wouldn't be reading into the fact he didn't play ahead of Tavernier, he's the club captain and been pretty good for them in fairness, everytime I've seen Patterson he's been good especially in Europa League games. Will end up playing alot of games for Scotland.

With him and Mykolenko hopefully we have the full back positions sorted for a few years. Still need to shift some players out. Wouldn't be at all surprised if we recoup more money than spend this window. Digne probably, and God I hope someone is silly enough to buy Holgate.

Copied from Rangers forum lol

Good luck, Nathan.
I get all the logic behind this sale, still gutted to lose a player who is one of our own; and in such a short time has made the breakthrough at both European and international level.
Has the world at his feet.
Quick glance at the Everton forum grandoldteam though, has posters in the thread started in the past hour saying `the kid has been ill advised` `what`s he thinking of joining this circus` etc., including a resident hater davek who describes NP as `a sub in an ale house league` (this in addition to his infhestation on their Walter Smith tribute thread).

I like this lad but i honestly don't know what he is thinking leaving a title winning side to join a relegation going absolutely nowhere except down outfit managed by a complete buffoon and his group of muppets.

Money obviously.

Totally agree with your take on Patterson. The lad's got the lot. Just as well that his exposure has been limited because of Tavernier, otherwise we wouldn't be getting a look in.
