Oh so by being exposed by poor players around him, he gets hung out to dry and it’s his fault?
No I’ve not hung him out to dry my point is and always remains he wasn’t ready for being first choice in a poor Everton side and no coincidence we had the season we did once you have a squad littered with these issues. I feel while he had game time last season still not sure them minutes was enough to start this season but will he be better for it I’d imagine so yes looks like he will be first choice going into this season so let’s hope he stays fit and grabs the opportunity with both hands

Yeah, he could have reacted quicker to doubting a 180 turn to chase a ball when the attacker is already facing that way.

But two points, why was their player allowed to shoot from distance?
Why did Pickford palm the ball that was straight at him, back into play across the goal?
Not saying Patterson is blameless here, but there were 2 mistakes prior to his.
Exactly my point of he would look better with a better side around him more cover etc.

Third game of the season Forrest goal, over commits in the first passage recovers but then ball watches his awareness was crap and only realises a player is behind him when the rebound falls to Forrest player again to be expected from a young lad with little senior football again my point of he should of had experience out on loan unfortunately we haven’t been in a position for that so we need to accept he’s going to make mistakes while learning on the job doesn’t mean it’s right. Three games in do you want me to continue?
Yes please. Every goal. Many thanks.

Log off mate you're clearly irrate and can't debate sensibly on a football forum. Maybe you need a cooling off period :)
Correcting people’s grammar or spelling isn’t debating sensibly is it mate calling someone a fanny isn’t when ironically the person is even more of one saying it. Don’t worry I am logging off.

Not easy to remember no memory is crap but first off second game of the season villa first goal nowhere to be seen goal goes in he then comes into shot. Second goal trots into the box albeit Tom Davies was to blame but Patterson literally jogs back with no desire to become goal side of the attacking player watches that whole passage of play. Young lad going to make these mistakes my point has always been he should of been out getting game time away from us as he’s an inexperienced lad with little senior experience expected to be first choice in a struggling Everton side.
You are kidding right? Villa first goal? Which came from our left side, into their CF (being marked by our CB) who didn’t cross the middle of the pitch and scored surrounded by 3 of our players?

And you are apportioning blame for that onto Patterson?

No was saying he was out of position.

No was saying he was out of position.
And at fault for GOALS is what you claimed.

I prefer seeing things with my own eyes and Patterson has been at fault for goals being out of position getting caught out.

Attacking fullback gets caught upfield when midfielder ignores him, dawdles on the ball and is dispossessed = Fullback at fault? Even though there were more than enough defenders back to compensate for a fullback being asked to get in front of the football so he is actully doing what the manager has asked of him.
This is absolutely mad stuff mate.
List them all or log off. its not nice seeing a meltdown.

As I said the forest game collective of errors but last one comes down to him watching the ball and no clue a player his behind him who then slots the rebound I haven’t got every error down so I’m not just going to list them all am I but I seen enough games last season to know he was at fault for a few goals. If you don’t think he is for that forest game then I’m wasting my time.

Please go into those player threads (in regard to the collective errors) and point out the mistakes that they made. As I’m certain you won’t have done.

He should watch a rerun of Jimmy Garner's performance at right back v Bournemouth. Calm and composed in possession, sacrificed his natural attacking instinct for the greater good of the team, showed great positional sense and unbelievable discipline to make sure he didn't put a foot wrong for the entire 90 minutes. Garner can put in a performance like that due to having put in the hard yards at Watford and Forest when he went out on loan to develop his game - Patterson has spent his formative years on the Rangers bench or the treatment table.

Why would Patterson watch a game back of someone playing right wing-back
