2023/24 Nathan Patterson

Which is why we need him to get experience now, no one would be staggered to see both retire in five months time, when we go reaching for Nathan to play 30+ games next season, we need him experienced and honed.

Plenty of players get loaned and get few to no games

The only place that Dyche can guarantee him playing time is here

That or loan him to Forest Green Rovers where he'll be guaranteed games of a standard that's even worse than our team performance today (if that's possible)

I think Coleman offered us another dimension when he came on mate.

I think the only thing stopping him starting is as you say fitness.

It’s now or never on a loan for Patterson, imo. We need him to be our starting right back next season, presuming Coleman retires.

Coleman definitely looks a lot more confident on the ball and in his place within the team

That's to be expected given his senior position

If he’s not playing in a top championship side mate, he won’t be starting here this or next season.

He hasn't shifted the dial in the games he's had. Don't believe the low bar some supporters have set for him is one shared by the manager's expectations. He's said often enough Patterson is just learning the game.

Coleman will be the RB when fully fit. And if people believe someone like Young who Dyche seems to feel a debt to is out of the RB picture they need to think again.

My belief has always been: Coleman until the end of the season when and if fit; buy in a RB in the summer...we'll have to anyway as Coleman cant get another contract and I doubt Young will be kept on.

Don’t know if you remember Coleman coming through mate, he was equally as raw but you could see the tools, like you can with Nathan.

Coleman went out on loan to Blackpool then, just like Nathan needs to. Coleman came back and made a starting spot for himself in the team the following year.

Pickford
Mykolenko
Keane
McNeil
Harrison
Onana
DCL
All of the above were abysmal today.

Garner
Patterson
Tarkowski
We're poor

Only Branthwaite looked half decent.

Not sure why one player is singled out ( I am really ) yet 7 other players were far worse than him including our opposite Full back who was dreadful today.

The danger with a loan is that he's consistently failed to be first choice right back everywhere he's been, behind a succession of aging players and journeymen. There's nothing to suggest he'll get the experience he so desperately needs.

We were well stocked at the club with fit RB's at Everton when Coleman was sent out on loan.

2 years into his mammoth contract after commanding a hefty fee and people are comparing him to a raw kid who we took a £60k punt on from Ireland.
