Some are much more critical, even vicious of him because;

1. He come from Rangers.
2. He's replacing Seamus Coleman.

It's so weird.

The lad has just turned 22.

He's done alright.

Not brilliant, not terrible - just alright. He has time on his side and it's on Dyche/Everton - including our fans to help him progress his game.

Unfortunately we don't have the best environment/circumstances to allow players development time so I'd have Coleman ahead of him when he's fully fit but if we were safe I'd be starting the lad every game. He needs time, and a long run of games in a settled side.

He needs a games, if he's not getting a looks like he's not getting games come the last week of Jan - i think he needs to out on loan.

RB is an area where to outsiders looking in they think we're more than well served with what we have.

But anyone who's familiar with the position from an Evertonian perspective KNOWS we need to scrap the lot of them and invest in a RFB as a matter of urgency.

Coleman is the only one Ild have any sort of faith in, and tbh he's looking like parts are capable of falling off him now with every appearance.

In short: its a crisis position for us and has been for way too many years.

I said the same early August, but we don't have the luxury of relying on Young/Coleman - Young picks up cards like nothing I've ever seen and Coleman's fitness is what it is.

18 games left though mate, Coleman played almost all second half of last season - if both are fit and with Coleman and Myko back fit Young will be reserve, i dont think Patterson is getting time and he needs it.

Its not inconceivable Young and Coleman retire this summer and we want Patterson to be our starting right full next season - i think we can all accept he needs games between then and now.

Massive games that determine whether we're a Premier League club in Goodison's final season.

Mykolenko gets an injury and Young is left back. We're too light to loan him out IMO. Let him go, and then 1 full back injury and we then have no cover at all.

It just shows how Everton hasn't been the ideal place for some players to develop - I'm saying I'd rather not be starting him given our circumstance if another player like Coleman gives us a bit extra, but also saying we can't afford to let him get the games he needs to develop elsewhere.

We've had former managers say the same thing - not ideal to give him a run of games when it's so desperate.

Has to take his chances when dyche is starting him, has been talk of the club working on his game at ff. same what we seen with myko coming back early from the break to work on his game

Midfield is far more urgent imo we need a playmaker....

He's played in 22 of the 24 games we've played so far its very hard to imagine him not being needed at all in the second half of the season.

Looks disinterested on the bench tonight, almost sulking. Needs someone to remind him he's third choice RB and only got a run of games due to an injury crisis.

We can't just go loaning out players in our thin squad, if Coleman is injured or needs rotating Patterson is in. He learns on the job, and like Myko he improves.
