I think its about doing it for a long period too. Thats one of the things when people talk about Holgate and Godfrey dropping off like they are elsewhere it seems like a drop off if you take it from their highest ever level but that isn't really what you should look at. Anyone can have a good spell of form thats why you if you look at the list of top goal scorers in a random prem season there'll be someone like Grant Holt or DJ Campbell in it but then you'll see the names that are consistently there are the players who are a much higher class. Mykolenko has done well recently but he's a £15m player with national team caps and champions league games so its not a shock that he can play well sometimes its a case of keeping it up now to show he's definitely better than he looked. I'm not seeing much from Patterson to give me hope but he's not hopeless by any measure.
In the League Young has started rightback 10 times for us. Patterson is 23 starts.
Not this season .... Young has played 9 games to many at right back .....
This season Young has started 10 games at right back, we have won 6, drew 1 and lost 3. In total 19 points.
This season Patterson has started 9 times at right back and we have won 2, drew 1 and lost 6. In total 7 points.
For all 23 league starts for Patterson at Everton he has won 4, drew 7 and lost 12. In total 19 points.
Amazing record considering Young has cost us 9 points this season, you would think with him out of the time we would win more???

I personally don't rate Young, he is a useful squad player as he can cover a few roles.
But, considering he is slow, crap and has cost us 9 points this season we somehow get better results when he starts instead of Patterson.

My mistake over the Newcastle one. I never counted the West Ham game, that was Patterson.
Chelsea game I will count as he started, so its five victories from 9 starts at rightback.
Under 50% in those he gave 9 points away

You would think with removing the mistake machine that is Young from the team we would be better.
He's hardly played - plus the fixtures have been v hard teams .
