2023/24 Nathan Patterson

He's been pretty poor this season, don't think there's much to defend, I think we all reckon there's potential there but it's not materialising, the only difference is that there's some people who don't want that to happen and it's quite sad to read.
If he does rediscover the form he showed before his injury it will not conform to their continuing disparaging remarks.

I have no problem saying this about Keane though, as he has always been poor.

Really? He's an Everton player, just because he came from a club you hate doesn't mean he needs personal abuse, I'd have thought we would have learned that lesson after the public humilation of certain Evertonians' behaviour on social media lately.

He's "under developed" which is pretty much that definition. Other players get a lot worse. My angst with this one is we paid an absolute fortune for someone with no obvious credentials. I couldn't care less where he came from. For what it's worth I loved Richard Gough in his latter years for us. This is nothing personal.

He’s currently as bad as Jonjoe Kenny.

We need two new full backs desperately.

Patterson isnt as good as Kenny (yet anyway). Kenny was poor to average. Patterson is bad to terrible.

You need to take them Green & White glasses off David.
It's seriously clouding your judgement.

Not one player had a good game 1st half ( yet you single him out)
Mistakes all over the pitch but not one from Patterson.
" Couldn't handle it" oh my.
What a load of tosh.
Spurious argument. I couldn't care less what happens to that club.

This is just you deflecting from a straight question about Patterson: do you think he's good enough for Everton?

He's played poorly in all 4 games. I see a player who actually now looks worse than when they signed 20 months ago. I'm not sure what is going on because I do still think he's better than this, but he needs to improve a lot.

Garner wasn’t great at RB last night. He looked better than Patterson because gana was doing a load of defensive work that garner and onana hadn’t done in the first half. Then when we scored and our players started ignoring dyches hoof ball tactics, he put some good crosses in (also knocked the ball off the sideline several times like Patterson did) but I’m sure Godfrey went to RB and Garner had some more freedom to get forward to make those crosses.
We turned it around second half much like we did when Patterson was hooked against Boreham Wood.

I see a player who isnt being aloud to play to his strengths and is not being protected by his senior team mates (gueye/tarkowski)
Both these players have been terrible all of the games they have played this season yet people devide to pick on a 21 year old lad.
The likes of Baines/Coleman could excell because of the likes of Gareth Barry, Jagielka, Distin....even Phil Neville covering them to allow them to move up the pitch

I’m not going to complain about Tarkowski when he had his hands full having to play with Keane all but the Bournemouth game but the midfield of Gueye and Onana hasn’t worked yet.

I’d like to see Garner in there because he knows how to cover full back if a full back bombs on much better imo and I guess that’s the plan which is why we’re being linked with more wide players even with McNeill, Harrison and Iwobi to come back from injury - Garner shouldn’t be a wide option

Patterson has been poor though, not just in terms of positioning and not being covered but overall his link up play and delivery has been terrible apart from two good balls against Bournemouth

….I look for signs that there’s a player in there, but he actually seems to have regressed. His link play with Dobbin was embarrassingly poor and it wasn’t a surprise when they both got hooked.
The same can be said of a handful of players, and I wonder how much of this is partly down to confidence and coping with pressure when they make a mistake.

The Patterson Robofootballer doll is constantly stuck in 2 modes.
*Injured
*Useless

If somebody could find the *resemble a footballer switch and activate it, that would be most welcome.
