He's an awful player. Couldn't deal with Willian first half and lost Decordova for the goal second half. I'd even play Holgate instead of him and thats saying something. Or garner RB. Needs to be more physical, grab hold of the likes of Willian and bully him.

I agree he wasn't good today and I'm unsure about him long term but on that goal today that wasn't him. He was only over in the middle because he was having to provide cover in the middle because the 2 melts at CB had gone walkabout for some reason. The whole team just doesn't keep shape very well at times, I had a bit of the Leipzig vs Bayern cup game on before and every time RB Leipzig lost the ball, BANG! straight into a 4-4-2 rigid shape and stay there and move as a unit. I think we could do it but both Patterson and Keane can be loose positionally at times.

Maybe but that's because he was covering for the other two though, I thought the whole back line was at fault for the actual goal tbh, none of them where in good positions

Yes but he gets there and has a chance to block it. Defenders cover for each other's mistakes all the time.

I don't really get this shout tbh, I mean he is a fully capped international, if we tried to ask him to go on loan somewhere he is just going to ask to leave imo.

That would also not be an issue for me. Coleman is better than him and I suspect Young would be better at right back too. Two players with a combined age of almost 80.
Ashley Young started more games last season than Patterson has started in his career.
Season in the championship would be great for him.

He had injuries last season though tbf. I just don't see him accepting a loan (not that it would make a massive difference, he is just missing something imo)
