The point is that he has had first team PL games and I doubt if he would keen to go down a league to "develop" all of a sudden. Also do you not think it's us that should be doing the developing, I'm not bothered either way tbh as he just doesn't do anything for me.

It depends how switched on he is if he’s got a brain he’ll know he’s failing at this level and be willing to take a year out to get better while in the same money if he’s a bit thick he’ll think he’s already made it despite being crap and stay here and be rinsed every week by 35 year old journeymen.

If you’ve got a pretty decent and reliable squad yes develop and allow to grow we haven’t and he’s adding to a collective of problems at Everton. Hickey is same age with SPL experience serie A and now Brentford plenty of first team minutes still learning but nowhere near as raw as Patterson.

I think he’s a good player but 2nd half particularly was all over the shop. Needs to score that tap in and caught upfield/out of position too often. Not going to get too hysterical after one bad game and don’t think Garner helped much in front of him.

Thought the right side was wink link yesterday, admittedly partially due to injuries. Garner is not a winger but is confident and comfortable on ball, whereas Patterson had a bad match throughout and looked out of his depth at times. Once we have a winger fit, put Garner at RB and drop Patterson.
