The next line out of the club will be along the lines of “We are considering all options, and will make a decision in time for the new appointment to start pre season training with the squad”. :pint2:
Dear god I posted this on 2nd June, just over 1470 pages ago, and here we are looking like it might be true - as someone once said "I don't believe it"!

The longer it's gone on the calmer I've become tbh.

Think if it was someone like Rafael / Nuno / Howe, they'd all be super keen to join Everton and it would be sewn up already.

Think we are going for someone a bit more outside the box, which we absolutely should do at this point. We cannot go for people living on past-glories, reputation, or take yet another manager completed his Everton exam that is taking one of those teams a level or two below us to like 7/8th in the table.

My thoughts also

In a nutshell

From what I've heard just two days before he jibbed us off, the club sat down with Ancelotti and agreed performance targets and budget for the season and shook hands on the way forward. There was little/no indication he was thinking of leaving.
His decision has thrown everything up in the air, and with no obvious stand-out person, it's going to take a bit of time to do the due diligence and get the right person.

I understand the frustration, but given the magnitude of this decision and the unexpected nature of how the situation arose, I think it's forgivable that it's taken a few weeks. Especially when you consider that Palace and Spurs have been managerless for considerably longer and don't seem any nearer to appointing a new one than us.

Koeman was appointed on 14th June when he joined us. We're only a week outside of that and the players are all off on their jollies/in tournaments already.

Not panicking yet, but I'd hope we'd have someone before July

So what you reckon? Potter? Galtier? Conte?

How can anyone criticise the club?
I mean, they allowed Don Carlo a clause that meant he could walk out with 2 years left (or £22m on his contract) and we get no compensation?
IRemember when Moyes was allowed to run down his contract and go to Man C?)
A club that has previously been subsidising the wages of the current Belgium and former Dutch manager? Who knows what Silva's deal was... (I don't see him working anywhere since being sacked 18 months ago)....

For once, given these guys are on mega bucks and contracts are essentially worthless: Give them a rolling 1 year deal. Renews automatically based on KPIs, or at the discretion of the board. Yes, we might have a manager every 11 months, but we're not far off that anyway - we'll be the Chelsea of the north, but with better sausage rolls.

Oh, and no to FSW, obviously.

….what goes around comes around.

Benitez must really regret making those ‘small club’ jibes now and taking us all for fools saying he meant to say ‘small team’. I imagine this would be the perfect job for him at this stage in his life & I actually think he’d have been a good fit but the club has to maintain some self-respect.

They are doing the right thing, there are others out there.
if were are told to not believe anything that the papers are saying are we all totally sure what talk sport are spouting as gospel can we all wait till the club announce it
