Out of those options, I'd go for Rangnick - we need somebody who can start to build something meaningful and has done it before. I can't see him agreeing to work with Brands though, and we aren't going to get rid of him.

Starting to warm to Potter a little. Not sure I want another ancelloti, what's the point when they're just going to ditch us anyway. Give a young manager the chance, someone passionate and trying to prove themselves. Its not that exciting but maybe he could buy up and coming players rather than spend millions on experienced players who couldnt really care less. I dunno, just seems there's not much out there.

Farhad ( and perhaps Usmanov) have a huge decision to make.

There are different avenues and personnel available.

1. The big name manager.
More of the same from an Ancelotti type Hollywood name.
Perhaps Conte ( if the salary is big enough and he has no other options ) although that might be unrealistic.
So consider Favre or Galtier or maybe even Low.

2. Middle ranking - could be here for the long term.
An uninspiring list I think.
Topped by Moyes ( if Blue Bill gets to him before he signs his new contract ) along with Nuno and Dyche.

3. The young manager prepared to work with Brands
So not so steady Eddie Howe , maybe Frank Lampard or perhaps young Wayne fancies a go.... lol.

An unenviable decision. I'd go for Favre myself.

I don't know where this idea that it has to be one or the other has come from, you really can do both. We're not going to be winning the league whoever comes in, just as we wouldn't have if Ancelotti had stayed. There's absolutely no reason why a manager can't get us playing decent football and finishing a couple of places higher in the league or winning a cup though. We have this weird habit of making out like everything is so much harder for us than it is for any other club in the entire world, i'm not sure why.

There is because we again go from a manager that had a plan, players he wanted in and wanted out to progress.

Now we're back to square one again. A new manager will look at the squad of players that have failed every previous manager, give them a new chance, then look to bring and bed new players.

They also have to fill the deficiencies in the squad that are as clear as day.

We've been here before. We've had one of the best managers in world football trying to rebuild. Now we'll go down the route of a new manager with different experiences and philosophies and what? Expect to be a better side?

It won't happen. The past decade has told us this. It needs a full reset

I want Potter, sod it. Plays good football that creates chances. Brighton would’ve been alright if Maupay wasn’t terrible
