What worries me even more than this appointment is that we are wasting valuable transfer window time to get some decent players into this squad.

Unless of course we really are skint and even if we had a manager would still not be able to get any players in without selling.

The problem is most of our fans are crying out for a "young progressive" manager to play good attacking football.

Look at this squad mate - is it good enough to play that way? Can Keane and Mina play a high line?

Our midfield cant string two passes together unless its sideways and back.

Thats the problem - we need to build solid foundations and sort out this garbage recruitment policy we currently have before we can trust some 30 year Portuguese manager or Graham Potter to be able to come in and get this team playing super football.

Benitez in an ideal world will do what Moyes did until BMD is built - stabilise us, make us tough to beat like Ancelotti but HOPEFULLY we spend money correctly this time and bring in players with pace and energy who can actually be able to counter attack well enough rather than playing for set pieces like last season.

If we do the above we could still compete for Europe look at West Ham and Moyes last season.

Then after 2-3 years Benitez goes as the stadium is built and we have a squad that a progressive manager can takeover and sprinkle some fairydust over like Martinez's 1st season built off Moyes foundations with the stadium sorted and finances improved.

Everton twitter later on today; 'good luck tonight to jordan pickford and dominic calvert lewin as the three lions take on germany in the last 16 of euro 2020, als0 welcome our new manager'

Benitez won't be here in 2-3 years. It is an awful appointment that will end in tears and see Everton slipping further away from competing for anything.

"also welcome our new manager" in size 2 font, in white so you can't see it even if you knew it was there.

To make this perfect we need a bit of Amanda Holden in a plunging little neckline number!

If she's a genuine fan she won't be anywhere near the announcement of FSW but if you want the plumging neckline, just check her Instagram every day. She's never short of attention seeking photos on there.

If FSW leads us out at BMD then we have failed

he will be gone quicker than the last 3 failures

I don’t get why people think we will bury the announcement during an England game. Why? Do you think Everton fans won’t notice?
Fans of other clubs won’t care either.

Will be this afternoon I reckon.
