I'm sure he will be great for us.

You just have to forget:
  • He managed our rivals
  • Called us a small club
  • His teams play crap defensive footy
  • He hasn't won anything for almost a decade
  • Half or more of our fans hate him
  • The chairman and rest of the board didn't want him
  • He wants complete control over everything, making our useless DoF even more useless
  • He got relegated with Newcastle
  • His last job was just for the money
  • He only wants the job because he lives around the corner
Once you take that out of it then he's a sound choice and we need to get behind him.

well no, Bilyaletdinov Beattie and Kroldrup could have been swapped for one Torres. who got the best deal?
Here we go mate.https://www.lfchistory.net/Transfers/ByManager/20/1

Some very good signings, I'll agree, but some proper crap or Ill fated ones. Bit ott of me to compare him to Koeman on reflection.

But, soe were signed for a lot of money in some cases - more than we spent on Simon Davies etc.

Oh yes that links to his twitter feed too. There you can find content like:

But he's moved on guys. It's years ago.

I mean of course it wasn’t, Moyes was operating on at most a net spend of about £6m a season??
yes, insofar as he was v successful at spotting bargains. But, when he sold a Lescott or a Rooney, and so had money burning a hole in his pocket, he didn't spend it well. He wasn't comfortable at that level of the market. Whereas Rafael made a number of outstanding purchases, of players who went from excellent to world class.
