Of course it does. Come down to a home game and soak in the atmosphere and feel the electricity in the air and you will realise this job is still a very much big one despite us being crap over the years.

Different ball game losing games at the Amex and dealing with the pressure of just staying in the PL than it is losing games at Goodison and the pressure of needing to try qualify for Europe every season.
The level of self aggrandizing here is unreal. We're not that special right now.

I'm still in the Potter camp. I like Rangnick, Kovac, and Amorim as well. I'd also take Martinez back but he would not be as preferable as the others in my opinion, and I don't think he is a genuine contender if Brands is in charge.

I don't want Moyes or Ferguson to get the job.

If it's Nuno, then I'd see that as a steady appointment but no more.

Just a question…

Do people on here not like Moyes because of his comments etc when he left? Is that the main reason or just didn’t like him as a manager?

Everyone says he’s not a winner which I get, he’s not my first choice but how many FA cup finals, semi finals & top 6 finishes have we had since he left?
He's had a three year deal just signed at Wham. He's not really worth discussing as he isn't coming.

And we can prove he can't handle it how?

We cant prove it, but we can hypothesise.

In some ways it's a weakness for the club, but playing well and losing will not go down well here over a long period.

You could end up with a Marco Silva situation on steroids. A manager doing a lot right, but an impatient fanbase mixed with a thoughtless and quite cowardly board allowing it to turn toxic.

What do you think Martinez would do this time that he didnt do last time?

Personally don't think Silva was doing a lot right in his second season. I think he was unfortunate with some things but he did not handle it well.

He could control the dressing room though and have us qualifying for Europe.

These players would eat Potter for breakfast imo

That's a big concern with Potter too. His style of play relies upon a type of player we dont have.

Strangely, and I'm not in favour of Nuno really, but the players probably suit what he would do more.

3cb. 2 up top. Playing it quite long and fast to them. More technical players in the middle. We would need a RWB but after that I think we would be quite close to what he had at Wolves.

Tell a packed out Goodison that and see what your response would be.

Like it or not we are still a big club and the fanbase have high expectations way higher than Brighton fans will ever have hence why its a bigger job.
I'm just not writing off someone because "he can't handle the pressure" when there is nothing to really suggest that aside from I don't know how he looks?

The problem with this though is where does Nuno go next? I just worry that we get really drab 7th place finishes for as long as we're willing to tolerate that.

A big club in history.... yes. A big club now.... No. we are battling it out for mid-table almost every season now. We are no longer even the best of the rest. This isn’t just some blip of a few seasons. We haven’t won a trophy in over 25 years.
