That's a big concern with Potter too. His style of play relies upon a type of player we dont have.

Strangely, and I'm not in favour of Nuno really, but the players probably suit what he would do more.

3cb. 2 up top. Playing it quite long and fast to them. More technical players in the middle. We would need a RWB but after that I think we would be quite close to what he had at Wolves.

Think if he came in and we went 352 we would need to move Richarlison on as he isnt a CF in my eyes.

Think we would fare better under Nuno in a 343 with Richarlison on the left and a pacey RW on the opposite flank.

Would mean we need a top drawer CM alongside Doucoure as think Allan wouldn't have the pace to play in a midfield 2 well enough.

And we can prove he can't handle it how?

You cant, obvs. But its certainly a factor to consider.

My personal view is anyone who has the stones to get to be a PL manager has sommet about them. But that said, the jump from a pretty placid place like Brighton to a baying Goodison crowd reared on top flight footie for ever, is chalk and cheese.

You are a Merican, so you maybe dont get the cultural differences between a town like Brighton, and a working class city like Liverpool. Its massive.

A big club in history.... yes. A big club now.... No. we are battling it out for mid-table almost every season now. We are no longer even the best of the rest. This isn’t just some blip of a few seasons. We haven’t won a trophy in over 25 years.

But again mate tell a packed out Goodison that.

All well and good saying it on here but the pressure is on same way it is at St James Park, Olympic Stadium & Villa Park.

Traditional big club fanbases dont just give up because they haven't won much in recent years. History counts for a lot in fans eyes rightly or wrongly as tales are passed down from dad to lad.

Again I just think there is a level of self aggrandizing here to think managers "can't handle Everton." Luckily I'm sure Brands has his head screwed on right and won't be ruling out candidates like this.

Just a question…

Do people on here not like Moyes because of his comments etc when he left? Is that the main reason or just didn’t like him as a manager?

Everyone says he’s not a winner which I get, he’s not my first choice but how many FA cup finals, semi finals & top 6 finishes have we had since he left?

I’m long since over that

I just think you shouldn’t go back

He seems to have got his career back on track, so good for him on that front, but I can’t really see what he’d bring to us again

It worked last time but circumstances have changed since

I never said he couldnt. I said that unless you know, you have literally no idea between the city of Liverpool and the town of Brighton.

Like, you arrive at Lime Street on a match day, without colours, and the first thing a Liverpool taxi driver asks is "here for the match lads?"

I would suggest that does not happen in Brighton.

That's cool. I'm just not sure how you apply this to choosing a manager in a way that isn't just a complete guess. And for me that's a bad process for making a decision.

What do you think Martinez would do this time that he didnt do last time?
I'd hope he learned from his mistakes relating to defensive organisation, tiki-taka, and communicating more effectively, and not mindless praise when it absolutely wasn't warranted.

There is a bit of nostalgia for his first season there I'll admit it, and it's a free run as I'd be shocked if he returned.

He has rehabilitated himself at Belgium though. He could probably stay and do another World Cup. The Belgian FA also trusted him as technical director. He has spent 5 years working with high quality, world class players. Some of the Belgians are fond of airing their opinions and I haven't heard anyone slag him off.

He is a clever guy so that's why I think he has the ability to improve on mistakes. I liked Moyes enthusiasm in his early years, and I liked Martinez for the same reason in his first season. He didn't sound like someone here to do us a favour.

He'll get a very decent job in club football and I hope he does well.
