If we’re going to take a wacky gamble the best I’d like us to try Loew

Brands should be able to take care of most things so all he’ll have to do is focus on coaching the first team and possibly giving the youth system an overhaul

The transition from international to club management should be eased by the DoF system and you’d hope a World Cup winner would command respect in the dressing room

We had one of the most successful managers in European football managing us mate and most of them couldn’t raise their game when it mattered.

My mind hasn’t changed on who I think it’s going to be and that’s Nuno. I just get the feeling he’s someone who Brands would like to work with, a Silva type but with a bit more experience, someone who won’t rock the boat or demand a squad full of seasoned internationals but will be happy to work within the guidelines and just turn up to work to coach and manage.

Do you not think he could play the Jota role in a 2?

Not sure mate unless the coaching improves him and DCL just do not look compatible as a 2 for me.

Think I liked watching Wolves more when they were 343 and you had Traore on the right even though his end product is poor his raw pace and power often created more room for the other two in terms of getting into the box but thats just me I like a front 3!

I'm sorry this is absolutely nuts. I'm so glad we have professionals handling this.

You have never been. I havnt that many times, but I have at least witnessed it. And an endless stream of ex footballers will attest that it can be the hardest place to play at. And some were Everton players. The strong ones fed off it, the weaker ones did not. Same goes for managers.

Ha ha ha ha.

Are people seriously entertaining the idea of that cone laying galloot who's been at the heart of multiple failed regimes becoming our permanent manager?

He had four games in charge and underlined why he's unfit for the role.

FFS. The Galloot.

Heard it all now.

If he wants the job, then its pretty simple....he needs to quit now, and go prove himself as a manager elsewhere....any expectation that his first job can be Everton is delusional...

And if he does leave, pretty sure we'll never see him back at our club again....and i think he knows that himself

It’s not though really, again you’ve never been and sampled the Goodison atmosphere. Ancelotti only got to experience 5 games with a full crowd so got away with how nasty things can get when it goes south, Moyes, Martinez, Koeman, Allardyce and Silva all did, 3 of the 5 crumbled under it over time

There is just a degree of illogical bias against some managers as well that most people are prone to, myself included.

Dyche seems to be the prime example. I wouldn't want him to get the job here. But he'd deserve consideration. There is no way to reach an absolute conclusion that he couldn't come in and do a decent job.

Potter would get the benefit of the doubt from the majority whereas Dyche would be met by near universal disappointment from the off.

Nuno as well, I mean Wolves did fantastically well for 2 seasons and there are decent reasons to explain their slump. I just don't see him being the man for us but I would love if that opinion was shown to be wrong.

The atmosphere end of Silva's reign was the worst I've ever sat through I think. Was toxic as balls for 90 mins.

Martinez, Koeman and Silva all made mistakes that weren't "couldn't handle the pressure." I don't know maybe it is easier to think that it is something simple like that but it wasn't for any of them. Silva not understanding that his pressing system wasn't actually functional without a world class midfielder covering like Gueye did had nothing to do with Goodison getting rowdy for example. Or Koeman buying a bunch of "#10s" who weren't actually any good had nothing to do with the Park End booing at halftime.

The problem is bad managers who don't have a plan that aligns with the DOF buying players which leads to bad recruitment and ends up in a complete mess. Not pressure.

With the DoF system though shouldn’t we be able to just plug another guy in?

I thought that’s why everyone liked it?
I can’t see how you progress in the modern game without this model.

I’ve not seen the stats on it, but it certainly seems like managers’ tenures are getting shorter and shorter.

Someone has to be there to offer continuity.
