If we’re going to take a wacky gamble the best I’d like us to try Loew

Brands should be able to take care of most things so all he’ll have to do is focus on coaching the first team and possibly giving the youth system an overhaul

The transition from international to club management should be eased by the DoF system and you’d hope a World Cup winner would command respect in the dressing room

I'd hope he learned from his mistakes relating to defensive organisation, tiki-taka, and communicating more effectively, and not mindless praise when it absolutely wasn't warranted.

There is a bit of nostalgia for his first season there I'll admit it, and it's a free run as I'd be shocked if he returned.

He has rehabilitated himself at Belgium though. He could probably stay and do another World Cup. The Belgian FA also trusted him as technical director. He has spent 5 years working with high quality, world class players. Some of the Belgians are fond of airing their opinions and I haven't heard anyone slag him off.

He is a clever guy so that's why I think he has the ability to improve on mistakes. I liked Moyes enthusiasm in his early years, and I liked Martinez for the same reason in his first season. He didn't sound like someone here to do us a favour.
I don't think he's shown anything at Belgium to suggest he's learned. He's just got an amazing team and is in international football where there is less precision required because teams can't train as much and don't play together as much. He'd need to get another club job for me first.

This man is free....

Is anyone else in the same place as me that they just feel completely meh and have huge amounts of apathy now about it all? Just feels like whoever we get we'll just end up with the same old thing?
Agree partly because I have no control over what happens, and lack of confidence in the owner. I support Everton F.C., not any individual manager or player, as I will still be there after they leave. However, I would struggle to support Gerrard or Benitez, Having seen the second and third versions of Kendall's Everton I feel that rehiring a former manager is a bad move. I find Nuno uninspiring, but could get behind Ferguson, although he would need a good assistant ( the suggestion of Carsley does appeal), but will accept whoever is Brands decision, as he has to work with him. If Moshiri goes against Brands advice, he surely has to walk.

He'll get a very decent job in club football and I hope he does well.

Martinez doesn’t change or adapt

His way to fix things is to just do plan A better

It’d go exactly as it did last time

Personally don't think Silva was doing a lot right in his second season. I think he was unfortunate with some things but he did not handle it well.

Ah ok, I suppose we disagree a bit there. I thought we did a fair bit right, but he found ways to lose games where we played well in. I mean I'd say Potters numbers are better than Silva but that gives you a bigger risk factor to me.

Is the Potter case essentially- that with better players the discrepancy between Xp and actual points will be closed?

That's cool. I'm just not sure how you apply this to choosing a manager in a way that isn't just a complete guess. And for me that's a bad process for making a decision.

It’s irrelevant if it’s a bad process. Rhyme or reason doesn’t come in to it. When Goodison turns that’s it and there’s too many on this shortlist who won’t be able to handle it. It’s just a fact.

The idea is that at some point playing well will get results. So yes.

Think if he came in and we went 352 we would need to move Richarlison on as he isnt a CF in my eyes.

Think we would fare better under Nuno in a 343 with Richarlison on the left and a pacey RW on the opposite flank.

Would mean we need a top drawer CM alongside Doucoure as think Allan wouldn't have the pace to play in a midfield 2 well enough.

Do you not think he could play the Jota role in a 2?
