New Everton Stadium

Sure, but I still think League Cup games, and the less attractive games vs lower table sides, you'd struggle to exceed 40k at current prices, so that's a lot of empty seats.

How many were at the game the other day?

I'd hope that it is around 60k capacity, I think with a sensible price structure and initiatives especially for lesser games we would get healthy attendances.

There aren't many stadiums around the world that can effectively set the tone of the future surrounding architecture. That's what this can do due to the large amount of regeneration it will start.
One of the better examples is Camden Yards in Baltimore. They moved from an awful all-purpose stadium outside of the city to an innovative new stadium in the city incorporating the city's character via the warehouse and sight lines of the clock tower

Lets not use the method our "friends" over the park will use to fill their new stand....

It would be both embarrassing and damaging to our brand if we were to build a stadium on the docks that's even smaller than Anfield. It would just confirm our status as the city's inferior club. No one's saying we should try to put Old Trafford in the shade, but if it's going to be smaller than Anfield and smaller than Spurs' new stadium (61,000 all-seater), then we might as well not bother.

I know that some are concerned that we would be unable to fill a stadium with a capacity of over 60,000 (not that failing to fill our new stadium would be detrimental to us in any way), but our highest ever attendance is close to 80,000. And a move to a new stadium almost always increases attendances massively. Arsenal could never fill Highbury, which had a capacity of just 38,000. Conversely, the Emirates, a 60,000 all-seater, is always packed.
