New Everton Stadium

Surely you should build to have some spare capacity to benefit from any success you may have. The aim of any business is to improve and increase revenue to reinvest in further success. If you are selling out 50,000 seats most weeks and then have major success on the pitch and another 8000 people wanted to attend we would lose out and would be unable to make the most of any success that came our way.

It's about being realistic and not pretending your something your not.
We ain't got the fan base!!!!!!
Understand?

You might well be right. We might not be as big a club as Spurs etc. But how will we become bigger than them by building a stadium that's smaller than theirs?

I understand where you're coming from, but a gargantuan, world-renowned stadium wouldn't do us any harm, nor would having a few thousand empty seats every now and then.

I understand why some don't want us to have a bigger and better stadium than the likes of Spurs, the RS and Newcastle etc, but I personally wouldn't say no to a carbon copy of Borussia Dortmund's Westfalenstadion just because we might not fill it every week.

Let's think big for once.
Westfalenstadion isn't a bigger stadium than what we are building tbh. The added capacity of German stadiums almost always comes down to them being allowed a significant amount of standing sections. When used in full seating mode it's capacity is 65k.

Our 'kop' end is designed for rail safe standing areas in the hope they come in before the build is complete if that happened the capacity raises quite a bit. If not we have 61k seated.

Everton designing a stadium for 80k seated would be a crazy big stadium and much larger than Westfalenstadion.

Spurs stadium design is the best one in England I have seen to now. As I have said numerous times, if we can match that then that would be amazing. ;)

Yeah as somebody who has spent a lot of time following the plans and the build I'm really happy with what we are getting and convinced that most visiting fans are going to be blown away by the experience inside the stadium.

So much of the design choices inside are clearly for fan experience and atmosphere and the kop end is going to be closer to the pitch than anybody expects in a modern stadium, I really can't wait to see the lillywhite wall.

Our kop is actually at the exact same rake as Westfalenstadion's kop end, if you overlay the plan for both of the stands they are roughly the same height and both have the exact same angle.

Exciting stuff for you.
This is the reason I want at least a 60k stadium for Everton. I highly doubt you can build such an end with a 50k capacity stadium.
We've got over 30k members this season for Goodison primarily based on the hope of a new Manager(or the removal of a dud one anyway).
Nobody can tell me if we build a world class stadium on the waterfront, and have a team competing for honours. we won't have AT LEAST 40k members conservatively.
Build a beaut. Get it right now for 100 years. 60k with expansion possibilities has to be the way to go for me.

I was under the impression that rail seating doesn't have an effect on capacity as you do have a seat for every ticket, it's just folded away in standing mode. I thought that this was the while point, to stop over crowded areas and for each person to have a designated space, just stood up. Am I wrong?
