New Everton Stadium

Didn't see your next post, apologies. I still don't agree with that, I think it's about the game more than the actual stadium. I don't think it's devalued for the teams who won it at millennium stadium or if they've played at Wembley before. If it's. FA Cup final, happy for it to be at Turf Moor

Wembley is the National stadium and part of the glamour of getting to the cup final is the opportunity to play there.

I know some blues think we'll end up with a small, shoddy compromise of a stadium that isn't even as big as St James' Park, but I can still dream...

A blue version of Borussia Dortmund's Westfalenstadion would look great on the Mersey.

That is the stadium I would love us to build.

As much as we would all love a version of this, it won' be. This isn't the "most modern designed" stadium as great as it is.

We could always have a top tier say behind each goal that is non season ticket but only opened after the lower tiers have sold out, therefore not the smattering of empty seats you see at the Etihad, all the seats will be sold out close to the pitch and then the upper tier sold on a game by game basis. Wouldn;t be noticed by the cameras and we would retain the intimidating atmosphere. 50,000 then an extra 10,000 as and when it is needed. Even allow 5000 away fans - better atmosphere and more money! Also one of these tiers could allow almost 'giveaway' prices to students, schools unemployed etc one to boost attendances and two to increase the overall fan base.

The 'giveaway' prices sound great but you have to be careful not to alienate ST holders and others who are paying full price. It's a fine balance but I'm sure the number crunchers have a plan.

Spurs' new stadium (set to be completed in around 18 months) will have a capacity of 61,000. What's more, Chelsea, Man City and Sunderland (yes, Sunderland!) all have plans to increase the capacities of their respective stadia to well in excess of 60,000.

With that in mind, building a brand-new stadium with a capacity of just 45,000 would send out a message to the world that EFC is a second rate club that can only think small. The likes of Newcastle, Sunderland, Arsenal, Man City, West Ham, Liverpool and Man Utd all have bigger stadia than that today.

They don't, they give away lterally thousands of free tickets for every game. SOL is absolutely fine for their needs, the 60k plan was from FA funding for a WC bid.

For every 'giveaway' ticket given away each game, ST holders have x pence added to their season ticket account, which would be deducted from their renewal cost the following season.
