New Everton Stadium

Had an interesting chat with someone today regarding the ground I don't know how true it is or where he got it from so it might be all bull so don't get on my case. Here goes
There are 3 parties stumping up money Everton, Liverpool city council and third being Peel holdings in return Peel will part own the stadium I don't know if this is the ground or the facilities around the ground that's all I know but that was the hold up as they wanted Peel to put some money up.
Now the bad news this won't be built till 2025 and Liverpool city council will be hoping to win the Commonwealth games 2026 on the back of the stadium being built etc
This could be why the architect from America has been asked to be involved I don't know if it's a coincidence or someone's clutching at straws but apparently there is going to be an announcement in the next 2 months. I know we were told 2 years is not in realistic blah blah so me personally I don't believe it but thought I would post it see if anyone else had heard anything along the lines I was told above.

After reading that I hope that its all bull.

Why would Peel part own the stadium after selling the land to EFC ?

Commonwealth games should not have anything to do with this stadium as athletics should not be taking place in a football stadium. If the city wants the Commonwealth games let the city pay for it.

2025 is not exactly the 3 years old Joe Anderson was saying not to long ago

We are pretty sure they do take a peek on here, and other forums/platforms. They certainly did under the old regime. :bye:
I'd be very surprised if we didn't have at least 20 or 30 journos flying under the radar here too. As with pretty much every other Prem club forum I'm sure.

Far too often little bits appear in the press after being mentioned here first. An ex poster off here made a good living selling snippets to journos. That I know for a fact.

Nailed on. @Moomin got a totally made up transfer rumour into the papers from on here a few years back.

Exactly that's why I think it's crap

LCC council and Peel stumping up 90% of the money no doubt

Wouldn't surprise me if we rent the ground on a 100 year lease

Is LCC and Peel really stumping up 90% of the money ???

where's the source for that considering the fact that LCC have had the austerity measures on it for the last few years ?
