New Everton Stadium

We haven't acquired the land and yet people think we have a full design done.

Think at best a preliminary design is done and could possibly be used at Stonebridge Cross.

Longer this goes on, less likely it will be a waterfront stadium.
I expect there's 2 designs tbh, don't see why they'd re-use the same design for two wholly different sites.

Definitely until we hear from Everton confirming anything such as land purchased etc it's not worth jumping the gun is it. I certainly feel our scatter gun approach towards the end of the window has left people feeling uneasy along with the total lack of communication coming out of Everton ( except from Jim White ) means the early optimism some had when Moshiri arrived has been tested.

I'm hopeful by the end of the year we've heard concrete news about the stadium and it's plans.

I think we need to be patient, I cringe when people keep saying the Lucas oil stadium will look boss on the docks. Them lot will be so jealous!!!

Jealous of a pipe dream, let's wait and see first.

Correct, patience is the key and is something we should be accustomed to as we've had to show patience for the last 20 odd years for this club to pull it's finger out of its arse and get back to competing at the top end of the league. Still a long way to go on all fronts.

With the exception of the cladding , every strategic move the summer has made since the arrival of Moshiri has been with a view of revitalising an asset or purchasing cheap to eventually sell at a higher price.

People talk about Koeman costing us £7m. If we go up three places in the league in the final standings, that's paid for itself. Plus, he has the Southampton record of getting tosh players going again so that daft clubs pay grotesquely overblown prices for them. Walsh is much the same. Some serious profits to be made. The sole aberration here is the mental Bolasie fee.

Why on earth do people think we will pay £30m for some land (which we haven't done yet as the Land Registry clearly shows) when we could have two much cheaper options - Stonebridge Cross or renovate Goodison and wait for the Commonwealth Games bid?

The truly sad thing about the Moshiri "Trojan Horse" investment is that it's been a missed opportunity to affect real change ie get rid of Bill and Bob.

A shame.

I was agreeing with the top half and then sadly, the second half was complete tosh.

Land Registry records can take the best part of 3-4 months to get updated. The suggested land purchase was 6 weeks ago.

There's nothing new yet on the Land Registry website, see my comments below

Currently Bramley Dock shows on the Land Registry site as still owned by Peel, but it's not unusual for the Land Registry to be several weeks, sometimes months behind on changes of ownership.

Other information of note: Bramley Moore dock was acquired by Peel for £800,000 on 1st September 2006. Interestingly there was a change to the covenants attached to the land in June 2016 - this may well relate to previous usage restrictions being lifted.

IF it's Stonebridge cross or anywhere further from the city centre - it'll be the end of my match going support I'm afraid.

Few pints in town before and after is what makes the match day experience better for myself, and the easier transport.

Don't think I could forgive the club for messing up another chance of a dock side stadium - the revenue missed out on would be ridiculous.

And I'm sure many more would be willing to go the game if it's near the centre.

Can take =/= will take, as I'm sure you agree.

Let's be clear here - and I'll need to be by the looks of things with "confused" @PhilM floating about - Everton risk this appearing on the land registry to spoil their big reveal before the AGM? Not a chance that Bill would want to lose that big spectacular.

Historically- and let's be honest, we are still in the Bill Epoch - we'd have sooner jumped the gun and announced before contracts were signed as we have done many times before.

If Everton had purchased, actually owned, £20m + of dockland it would be trumpeted from the Main Stand so we could have another well earned round of spontaneous clapping.

We've had our Summer of Spurious Speculation, I'm calling for an Autumn of Acceptable Actuality

Is that not the very argument for buying the docks , building the stadium and thereby vastly increasing the value of the club as a sellable asset.

Not sure why people are getting twitchy about the perceived delay.

As I understand the land deal is done subject to planning. We're hardly going to hand over 20 mil only to learn we can't use that plot for a stadium.

So yes, the money is more than likely "resting" in escrow.

But there you have it Friend.

You are gambling on lots of things - no repeat of the global recession (and cyclical history suggests we are due another one shortly) and an exponential appetite for football across the world. Won't be long until football has rinsed the interest out of the lost Amazon tribes.

So a stadium on the docks costs you £30m before even a spade is wielded in anger. You could do this, but why bother? You could wait for the Commonwealth Wealth games and go down the City route, fantastic, that's £30m avoided and a cracking entry point to all sorts of financial boons. Hey, you may even get local government to fund the lot!

Had Moshiri come in, cleared the debt (no evidence) undone us from the clandestine network of weird borrowing structures that have leeched from us (quite the opposite) and swung his metaphorical financial dong around this summer, this idea of a dockside mega stadium would make sense. But that's not what's happened.
